We booked through a 3rd party site. Although we have high status on that sites it meant nothing there as We were put into a room that was literally the farthest away you could be from reception and bar. The room (47) was noisy, with road noise, and loud banging and thudding from above. Room service has ice cream priced per scoop- I ordered one scoop of ice cream, and received 3. Our bill reflected a higher than expected charge. The bed is incredibly firm. Firm mattress with ZERO cushion or pillow top. Very uncomfortable. And the outlet closest to the bed don’t work, which I don’t realize until my phone was dead the morning before we were departing. Wet frustrated. I want to say the bellmen and doormen were very personable and helpful. The front desk receptionists were dismissive and not helpful. Highly disappointed in the room, although love York and the hotels location.

Another great stay at the Grand. From start to finish our time at the hotel was amazing. The turn down service is highly recommended. The staff go the extra mile to make you feel welcome. Ian is just wonderful, so friendly and helpful. I cannot wait to return in a few months.
