Aparthotel Castelnou is a delightful place to stay. The apartment was spacious and spotless and had everything you could possibly need. Staff were so helpful, attentive and friendly, including advice on the best way to walk into the city centre. Dinner was amazing and there is a very pleasant small garden for eating outside. I'd thoroughly recommend this as a great place to stay.

Staff were so friendly and helpful, the apartment was perfect for 4 of us staying for the weekend. We were able to walk into the centre in just over 20mins.

Spacious rooms and amazing staff! Great location

Great location for walking to city centre. Friendly, efficient and helpful Reception staff. Limited (and a little expensive) but convenient on-site, secure parking. Good food in the Dali restaurant and excellent breakfast buffet (included in room rate). Studio was spacious and well equipped with sufficent facilities to prepare a simple meal and relax in the evening if you do not wish to venture out to a restaurant after a day sightseeing. Ghent is a lovely, walkable city and we would absolutely stay at Castelnou again.

Tout était parfait, dans les chambres ont l’air climatisé ou ont peut ouvrir les deux fenêtres👍. Tout est très propre. Le seul bémol est le serveur du restaurant le soir ( il est asiatique) il est bête, pas souriant et ne donne pas d’information. C’est dommage car pour le reste c’est 5 étoiles. Je retournerais certainement! De Québec Canada! La Belgique est un incontournable!

Nice hotel good value

Clean and simple room, staff were very accommodating. Close to Dampoort train station and within walking distance to the centre of Ghent. Breakfast that is provided was pretty good.

The suite was spacious and had a kitchenette with all the amenities needed to make a quick meal after eating out a lot of my trip. The breakfast was great with a wide variety of items and served in the lovely dinning room/lounge

Parking was secure.

Clean hotel, helpful staff. Note that the kitchen doesn’t have a toaster or microwave, so your food reheating options are limited to the induction cooktop. They did however have sharp knives (a rarity) so we could easily cut the apple and cheese we bought. Two things on location: the hotel is not near either train station, and the cabs at the station will gouge you. We got nabbed for €25 euros when we arrived. However when we left, the lovely receptionist called us a cab - and it was €15, even split with another couple. Knowledge is power. The hotel is close to a picturesque canal, and there’s a bridge across it right at the end of the hotel street. Do NOT cross that bridge and take that route into the centre of town, unless you want to endlessly trudge through the dullest streets in Gent. There aren’t even any bars to stop at for refreshment: I mean Dull. You’ll start to wonder why anyone goes to Ghent. However, at check-in the receptionist will give you a map and highlight an attractive, easy 20-25 minute route that puts you right in the centre of town. This route is perfect and cannot be improved. If someone you love looks at the map and says I see a better way, he is wrong. Throw him in the canal.
