A very pleasant ryokan experience with a comfortable room and private bath. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. The main drawbacks were the difficult access by public transport and a limited number of towels and amenities for this level. Overall, a high-quality and relaxing stay.

Food was very unimpressive and we expected far better for the price of this stay. The staff was also not at the expected level for the cost of this stay and was polite but very standoffish. Room and private onsen were very nice and earned two stars but I would recommend looking at other alternatives for your stay. Check reviews on other platforms, the Expedia reviews don't reflect the full quality.

The room was nice, clean and comfortable. Some other reviews noted construction across the street, yes we did see it but had no impact on our stay. The wifi was non-existent so expect to use data. The private onsen was amazing, clean and hot. The dinner, we did not like at all and felt underwhelmed, although that could just be personal preference. The Japanese breakfast was good and filling.

The food was phenomenal, the staff was super friendly and accommodating. The room was very spacious and had a wonderful view. We got to experience two different onsen and both were perfect to relax in and the second had a wonderful night sky view. We honeymooned here and could not be happier.

This hotel was very close to the last stop on the cable car train which is a narrow train that goes up the mountain from Gora.
Luckily we used the luggage same day storage and forwarding service from Hakone-Yumoto station because it was crowded on the cable car train and it would have been difficult to board with our suitcases.
We stayed in a suite with our own hot spring tub. Dinner and breakfast was included in our plan.
The service was impeccable. The host and hostesses were polite and friendly and could speak English.
Breakfast is served at 8am and dinner at 6pm. We had a choice of Western style or Japanese style breakfast. Dinner was a set menu with about 8 courses, traditional Japanese style, including raw seafood and pickled vegetables.

Gorgeous! So serene and feels rural even though its steps from the cable car stop. The room was really large, and of course the main attraction is the private on-porch onsen. I made the most of the hot spring, and I couldn’t get over the view from the dining room! Great place to unwind for 1-2 days on your trip, just like a spa—hang out in the onsen, enjoy the multi-course meals, and if you do feel like leaving, walk a few steps down the road to the Hakone ropeway and see if you can get a glimpse of Mt. Fuji.

Beautiful ryokan with wonderful attentive service. large, quiet and very comfortable rooms. We loved the private bath on the patio. The meals were also excellent. Walkable to the tram and cable car station was also a huge plus.
