It was absolutely amazing , peaceful and relaxing but with so much to around the hotel as well. My fiancee particular loved the karaoke . For me the turtle swimming , relaxation and food (calamari best I ever had )

the AC was so noisy that we had to turn if off during the night. Room was old, some of the furniture was dirty. definitely not a 5 star hotel experience.

The beach was clean and pristine. The hotel has a variety of sporting activities you can sign up for and you can also take part in baby turtle release. The hotel staff are friendly. Hotel breakfast buffet is so so. The only downside is the beach has lots of sandflies, two weeks after our return the sandflies bites still itches. Indeed the use of insect repellent is necessary. The hotel does provide repellent near the beach. We stayed in the two-bedroom hillview deluxe room. The room was spacious for my family consisting of two adults and two children. The room does come across as dated and needs some renovation. Some parts of the room (e.g the bathroom countertops) was also not well cleaned so housekeeping needs improvement.

This resort is located in a pristine beach in a area where the turtles go to play with tourists. The resort has boats for snorkeling activities and also kayaks.

The hotel is in need of a renovation. The first day we stayed we got food poisoning, there are no other dining options that looked enticing nearby so we were forced to eat all our meals at the hotel and it is the worst food I have eaten on this trip. The towels are old and rough, everything is dated and although the team are nice, it cannot make up for the experience. The kids room is dark and dingy, the table tennis rackets etc are falling apart, the hand soap dispensers are broken etc etc

Very nice hotel, and the best hotels in Malaysia ever. Professional people, many activities, good facilities, beautiful and convenient beach, But need to improve the dining level.

Taaras organises everything, has their own recreation team and is just the perfect place to relax and enjoy some of the clearest and warmest waters Malaysia has to offer.

Guests should note that they are required to pay jetty fees imposed by the Malaysian government at the terminal upon arrival. Boat schedule using hotel's private boat transfer: Departure from Merang Jetty to Resort (12:30 PM, 2:30 PM, and 4:30 PM). Departure from Resort to Merang Jetty: 8 AM, 10 AM, and noon. The hotel also provides a passenger boat departing at flexible timings based upon request and availability. Guests should note that additional mandatory Marine Park Jetty fees apply.
