Dingen om te doen in Kitakyushu

We waren te laat voor de reis en ontmoetten de gids op het metrostation van Dazaifu. Het was erg fijn om onze gids, Lina, als begeleider te hebben op deze reis. Ze communiceerde goed, wachtte op ons op het station en begeleidde ons naar de bus. Onderweg gaf de gids uitleg, zodat je informatie kreeg en wist wat je vervolgens moest doen. Het was absoluut een geweldige reis, we gingen naar Beppu en het Yufuin Floral Village, zagen prachtige landschappen en aten wat. Het was tsuyu-seizoen, dus verwacht wat regen tijdens de reis. Wat het tijdschema betreft, alles was op tijd en iedereen was ook op tijd. Over het algemeen, duimen omhoog voor deze reis! 🙌👍👍

We hebben tijdens de tour veel plaatsen bezocht en hadden overal de tijd om souvenirs en eten te bekijken. De krater van de berg Aso was helaas gesloten, maar we konden toch genieten van het prachtige uitzicht. Onze gidsen, vooral Sun, waren zo behulpzaam, zelfs toen mijn vriend en ik de enige twee Engelssprekenden op de reis waren. Ze waren allebei erg vrolijk en gaven goede informatie over de plaatsen en tips over eten en andere plekken om te bezoeken rond Fukuoka. Dus heel erg bedankt aan hen :)

Deze tour was echt geweldig als je van dieren houdt en ze van dichtbij wilt zien. Ik heb genoten van de gids Zhu Zhu, ze was zo lief en hoewel ze weinig Engels sprak, was ze zo geweldig en zorgde ze ervoor dat ik de rest van de groep kon volgen. Ze was zo charmant en vriendelijk, hielp me met het bestellen van al het eten bij alle kraampjes en winkels en bood me haar paraplu en zelfs de zoete appels aan. Ik raad deze route ten zeerste aan, je ziet veel op één dag!

Geweldige ervaring, zelfs al regende het... Hoogtepunt van de tour was onze gids Kevin, die erg behulpzaam en vriendelijk was. Hij legde elke bestemming uit. De boottocht in Yanagawa was ook een goede ervaring.

This activity was definitely worth it! Since we were traveling independently and wanted to visit Motonosumi Shrine, joining this one-day tour made things much more convenient. We were very lucky to have Jimmy as our guide on this trip. His initial self-introduction on the bus immediately livened up the atmosphere and had everyone laughing heartily. Since there were also foreigners on the tour, he spoke both Mandarin and English, which was excellent and easy to understand. I'd also like to commend the driver's excellent skills; although the journey was a bit long, we rested very comfortably. The only slight disappointment on this trip was that when we reached the mountain, the fog was too thick, so we couldn't really see the scenery. I look forward to coming back next time to see the beautiful views!

De beste dagtour ooit. Onze gids Sun was zo vriendelijk en gemakkelijk om mee te praten. Hij legde alles uit over de plaatsen die we bezochten en raadde zelfs andere plekken rond Fukuoka aan. Hij is zo'n leuke en vrolijke persoon. Ik ben zo blij dat we hem hebben ontmoet. De plaatsen die we bezochten waren prachtig. Het Motonosumi-heiligdom was een droom om te zien, en het stelde niet teleur. De andere plaatsen waren ook geweldig, vooral de Tsunoshima-brug. Ik raad deze dagtour ten zeerste aan. Het was perfect georganiseerd.

Even though it was raining, the overall itinerary was very well managed. We had a mini-bus with two guides: Zhu Zhu, who handled Chinese and Korean, and another male guide who provided explanations and commentary in fluent English. This was my first time on a one-day tour, and I was surprised that the guides even walked with us. Zhu Zhu is an excellent guide; she provided detailed information about restrooms and lunch options and consistently ensured the group stayed together and that everyone was accounted for. The entire trip was very enriching. Although the schedule was a bit tight, there was still enough time even for those who love taking photos. We even received small gifts at the end! Since I was staying in Takachiho, I opted out of the return trip, and Zhu Zhu was very enthusiastic in discussing my drop-off location. I'm so glad I joined this one-day tour, and I highly recommend it!

First, our tour guide, Xiao Min, was incredibly attentive and responsible, making every effort to care for each guest. When it rained, we were worried about the slippery steps leading to the torii gate for photos. Xiao Min noticed this and immediately guided us, personally leading us back to an easier, alternative route. She was very proactive and never lazy. Another point worth commending is that she saw a couple in our group monopolizing a scenic spot for a long time, causing a long queue. Xiao Min proactively urged them to move along, ensuring everyone had a chance to take photos. Regarding the itinerary: three aspects of the tour were quite disappointing. 1 - Lunch was too early. We had just finished breakfast at 8 AM, and then by 10:30-11:00 AM, we were at Ichiran eating again. Moreover, the time spent at Ichiran was too long, and there wasn't much to explore. 2 - Yanagawa: The boatman was excellent and created a lively atmosphere. Unfortunately, the rain was very heavy at the time. Driving 1.5 hours to get there was not worth it. I suggest that the itinerary should be adjusted based on the rain conditions, rather than just whether the boat company is willing to operate. 3 - The stop at Dazaifu was only exactly 1 hour. This included getting off the bus, using the restroom, buying Umegae Mochi, browsing 2-3 small shops, and then returning to the bus. Since we were traveling with parents and couldn't walk quickly, there simply wasn't enough time to walk into the temple. Fearing we wouldn't make it back in time, we turned around at the end of the street and didn't dare go further. Dazaifu actually has coffee shops and small stores, and I personally believe 1.5-2 hours should be allocated, especially since 30 minutes were set aside earlier just to photograph a torii gate. 60 minutes for the entire Dazaifu visit is simply too short.

A day full of interesting places, prepare for a long drive though..and bring food with you if you can, lots of them..The shrine is pretty but I love the stay at Moriko Port. This is a good value for money, thanks Nicole for a well organised trip..you’re English is good!
