Puffing Billy Trein & Pinguïnparade & Koalapark & Brighton Beach

Gids Curtis was erg enthousiast, en in het begin leek hij inderdaad wat spraakzaam. Maar later gaf hij ons ook tijd om uit te rusten. De hele tour had voldoende tijd, we voelden ons helemaal niet gehaast, hoewel sommige gasten misschien iets te laat waren. De ervaring met de stoomtrein was erg goed, ik had niet verwacht dat we er bijna 45 minuten in zouden zitten. De meeste souvenirs hoef je naar mijn mening niet te kopen; gebruik die tijd liever om foto's te maken en van het landschap te genieten. Toen we de pinguïns gingen bekijken, was ik verrast dat de gids, toen hij zag dat ik een korte rok droeg, vroeg of ik het koud had en me zelfs een warmtepakje gaf. Ik ben niet kouwelijk, dus ik gaf het warmtepakje meteen aan mijn vriendin die wel kouwelijk is. Ik raad iedereen aan om de luxe zitplaatsen te kopen, want dan zie je het hele proces van hoe ze aan land komen en weer teruggaan. Je bent dan bijna op twee handpalmen afstand van ze, wat het absoluut waard is. Nog verrassender was de sterrenhemel; het uitzicht in combinatie met de pinguïns was echt 100 punten waard. Hartelijk dank voor deze ervaring.

Curtis is een humoristische en betrouwbare gids. Hij gaf geweldige tips voor onze reis naar Phillip Island. Toen we op Phillip Island waren, legde hij ook gedetailleerd uit wat de beste plekken waren om de pinguïns te bekijken. Toen we aankwamen bij de ingang van Maru Koala and Animal Park, zou de schapenscheerdershow over vijf minuten beginnen. Curtis leidde ons erheen zodat we de prachtige voorstelling niet zouden missen. Nadat de tour was afgelopen en we teruggingen naar het stadscentrum, raadde hij ook veel heerlijke lokale restaurants aan. Over het algemeen ben ik uitermate tevreden met zijn professionaliteit en enthousiasme. Een absolute aanrader!

This tour is fantastic! An exoerience not to be missed. Despite in the rainy winter, the driver Curtis made it all a smooth journey. He even has good quality raincoat that he prepared for all of us! Very thoughtful. Curtis is also very informative and friendly. Thank you!!

One highlight was our visit to Maru Koala Park, where Curtis showed us how to feed the kangaroos and getting great selfies with them—something we really appreciated. At Philip Island, his advice on where and how to spot the penguins made a big difference, and we had an amazing viewing experience. On the way there, we were also lucky to spot many wild wallabies, which added an extra touch of excitement to the journey. Overall, a very enjoyable and well-organized tour—highly recommended!

Loved the Puffing Billy train experience, we arrived right on time at every destination thanks to the tour guide’s excellent arrangements. It gets very windy at the Nobbies and Brighton beach, so be sure to dress warmly. At the Penguin Parade, try to get a seat at the front if possible. Otherwise, once you spot the penguins at the beach, you can leave the general viewing area and wait on the right side of the path leading back to the centre for a closer view. The tour guide provided detailed explanations throughout, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable.

This’s the great tour that everyone who plans to travel outside of Melbourne. Even on our day, it rained sometime, but most of time was when we needed to be outside, I still feel it’s great day for me. Our guide, Mr.Curtis, is so nice too. All of his services to us, I’m appreciated with. He explained well both English and Chinese, and he had some ideas to cope with the uncertain weather.
