Queenstown naar Christchurch Mt Cook & Lake Tekapo Kleine Groepsreis

Onze recente roadtrip van Queenstown naar Christchurch was ronduit spectaculair. Deze reis is een meesterwerk van de natuurlijke schoonheid van Nieuw-Zeeland, met landschappen die rechtstreeks uit een filmset lijken te komen. Als je Queenstown verlaat, is de rit door de met gras begroeide Lindis Pass adembenemend mooi. We maakten een korte stop in Omarama—voordat het landschap veranderde in het dramatische Mackenzie Country. Lake Pukaki & Mt Cook: Niets bereidt je voor op de eerste blik op Lake Pukaki. Het water is onmogelijk helder, melkachtig turquoise. Het volgen van de kustlijn richting Aoraki/Mt Cook was het hoogtepunt; het zien van de besneeuwde top van de hoogste berg van NZ, weerspiegeld in het water, is een herinnering die ik voor altijd zal koesteren. Lake Tekapo: Een stop bij de iconische Church of the Good Shepherd is essentieel. Het contrast van de stenen kapel tegen het helderblauwe meer is verbluffend. Het laatste stuk door de Canterbury Plains naar Christchurch bood een vredige overgang van de ruige Alpen naar de "Tuinstad."

Het personeel is vriendelijk en uitbesteed aan Cheeky Kiwi Travel. Als je op een populaire plek verblijft, kan het zijn dat er 's ochtends verschillende voertuigen van Cheeky Kiwi Travel mensen komen ophalen. Zorg ervoor dat je in de juiste bus stapt, want de hele reis is lang. De natuurlijke landschappen van het Zuidereiland zijn prachtig. Omdat alles zich buiten afspeelt en de UV-straling hoog is op de wandelpaden, vergeet dan niet om je goed in te smeren en een hoed te dragen.

We booked a Queenstown to Christchurch transfer tour for June 26th. From the start, communication was seamless; the reception team quickly answered all pre-trip questions and sent helpful safety reminders. Everything was perfectly well-prepared. The driving was exceptionally safe. Our morning guide was high-energy, sharing great local stories. The guides clearly love their jobs and the NZ landscape, taking us to secret viewpoints with plenty of photo time. Their boss even called ahead during the trip to check road conditions after recent snow—a thoughtful touch. They also saved our day at Mt Cook by providing ice spikes when we realized our running shoes weren't enough, alongside water and snacks. The transition to the next leg was seamless. The lady who took over was highly responsible, ensuring we forgot nothing and waiting with us. Finally, our Christchurch driver safely dropped everyone off right at their respective hotels on time. Zeer goede prijs-kwaliteitverhouding, erg leuk, het landschap onderweg was prachtig, alsof je in de wereld van Lord of the Rings was. Onze twee gidsen waren ook erg enthousiast en attent. Het zou nog beter zijn als de auto's verbeterd konden worden.

Een roadtrip van een hele dag! Maar ik heb me geen moment verveeld! Je kunt de indrukwekkende natuur van het Zuidereiland van Nieuw-Zeeland ten volle ervaren. Omdat je bij verschillende plekken kunt stoppen, denk ik dat het een zeer voordelige tour is. Ik ben een Japanner en nam alleen deel. Ik was bang dat ik de verzameltijd niet zou verstaan, omdat ik niet zo goed ben in Engels, maar de chauffeur legde het apart en vriendelijk uit in gemakkelijk te begrijpen Engels, waardoor ik me op mijn gemak voelde! Hartelijk dank. Tijdens de roadtrip gaf hij ook veel uitleg over Nieuw-Zeeland. Als ik Engels had begrepen... had ik er waarschijnlijk nog meer van genoten (lacht). In de auto stonden flesjes water en snacks, die we gratis mochten pakken. Dit was erg handig, aangezien we onderweg veel moesten wandelen en trekken.

the driver was so punctual in picking us up. he helped us in our baggages. he is so knowledgable in history of queenstown and nearby cities. he discussed a lot until i fall asleep… he dropped us in some picture spots and discuss to us the transfer that we need in the mount cook. the next driver is also very diligent in discussing stories along our way.

What I really appreciated about this tour was that it uniquely offers many sightseeing spots while including a fuss-free transfer from Queenstown to Christchurch. There is also the option to trek at Mt Cook or visit the cafe for a nice lunch. However, the journey was quite uncomfortable because the 15-seater van was fully packed - and I was certainly too close for comfort to an uncle in the single seat who kept popping to his left and right to take photos ;_; Worst of all, when we reached Lake Tekapo & Church of the Good Shepherd, we only had FIFTEEN MINUTES. During which, I had to use the toilet, and there was ONE functioning toilet, and an extremely long line T_T I spent all 15 minutes queuing for the toilet, and didn’t even make it across the bridge to see the Church up close. So my memory of Lake Tekapo will, unfortunately, just be of queuing for the one toilet cubicle. Maybe in future I’ll just fly and then book a day trip instead…

Great itinerary. The service was on time and the transition from queenstown service to christchurch was smooth. Considering the distance and overall tour I’d say its worth it
