This was by far the hotel I liked the least & kind of regretted booking during our stay in Japan. The only plus was the size of the room. That major negative was the included breakfast which was bread we had to bake in our room and sushi on a couple other mornings. These would be left in your room in the refrigerator. On vacation I was not planning to baking bread for 4 hours. I needed real breakfast for my kids and unfortunately this hotel did not stand up to that. The staff was okay. Not super friendly at check-in. The facility is nice with a lot of restaurants and bars near, even right downstairs from the hotel. The hotel is located in a great location, walking distance to a lot, including the temple. I had booked another hotel nearby for half the price. The only downside to that one was the size of the rooms which is why I switched. I kind of regretted that.

This is not a resort, more like a 2 or 3 stars hotel. All the rooms do not have windows, even though on the website a few pictures have windows room. Staffs are friendly and helpful, but definitely we would not stay here again next time. Make sure to read reviews and do not trust those online pictures.

The shower lacked pressure. Beds were tiny and somewhat uncomfortable . No placebo hang used towels

Great location. Beautiful rooms. Loved the free breakfast in room and the morning guided tour. Very walkable to everything you want to see.

Hotel is very charming. The tatami matted floor and the beds on a platform and robes provided in each room make the hotel feel very boutique. Also the strawberry green tea provided in each room is delicious. Location is close to Yasaka Shrine and has plenty of nice restaurants nearby and lots of historical stores. Staff is wonderful and very helpful for advise on where to eat and with coordination of luggage delivery to and from the hotel. The one draw back is its quite far from rail transit and you will need to use the metro bus to get to a rail station to travel to other parts of Kyoto and Uji.

Great location, great room!

Amazing property at an awesome location. Walkable distance to most attractions. They have plenty of themed activities for guests including a nightly tea ceremony.
