Sonesta Ocean Point All Inclusive, Adults Only Resort

The ocean view was gorgeous. The entire property was well maintained. Room had everything we needed. Our butler service was amazing and exceeded our expectations. Ranjeet, Vigillio, Alex and Yannick treated us like royalty.

Needs

Perfect location. Pools and bars in pool areas closed too early. 6:30 and 7:00 pm is way to early for adults wanting to hang out and enjoy the scenery, water on vacation.

Everything about the stay and the property was great. My only complaint was the quality of the food and drinks which is not too much of a shock at an all inclusive. However, for the price I thought the food would be a little better.

This review covers both Sonesta Ocean Point (adults only) and Sonesta Maho Beach (family side). After visiting 7 Caribbean all-inclusive resorts, this was unfortunately the worst. However, St. Maarten itself is absolutely worth visiting. The resort is next to the airport, so while the planes are fun to watch, the constant engine noise gets old quickly. The property also is crowded and noisy. Our room had a beautiful bay view, but the A/C was broken on arrival, & it took 3 hours to resolve. We also waited 3 hours for luggage that had been sitting behind the front desk the whole time. The place was like being on a Carnival Cruise. The food was the biggest disappointment. The buffet and most restaurants lacked flavor and freshness. The only consistently good options were Azul, Portofino, and Bluefin on the adults-only side. The pools were nice, especially the lagoon-style pool, & bars were plentiful. However, the beach sits directly under the flight path, making it noisy, crowded, & less relaxing than other beaches on the island. The real highlight was exploring Pinel Island, Mullet Bay, & Grand Case. Great beaches, friendly locals, fresh seafood, & the French side was fantastic. Bottom line: Visit St. Maarten, but skip the Sonesta.

Enjoyed our stay, staff was great

I loved this resort. Absolutely beautiful. The food was very good and the staff were always helpful. The night life was also great. The resort has a nice size pool and the beach was walking distance away. It less than 5 minutes away from the airport which we appreciated. We enjoy watching the planes fly over our head. We had such a great time, that we wanted to stay longer. Unfortunately, they were sold out and I can see why. Will definitely consider coming back.

Loved this resort ! The food was amazing.

Overall the property was very nice. There were definitely signs of the property needing a renovation.

Great if you’re looking to stay on the resort the whole time and not venture out. A good all inclusive option that unfortunately we didn’t get to utilize as much as we thought, only had breakfast and dinner once both times ok. Rooms clean bed a little firm for our liking. Location is close to airport and a small strip of stores/ restaurant and casino.
