Booked this as an anniversary present and it was a great place to stay. The venue is beautiful with different areas to eat dinner and a buffet for breakfast. Different Onsen's to use if you don't have one in your room. We had 1 in our room which was big enough to fit 2 people and had a view and slightly open so you got a wonderful breeze. A bus can also take you to and from the venue and the near station (leaving at scheduled times). Only issue was that you need to make sure that either on your booking or at check in you let them know about food allergies/intolerances etc. so they can prepare something for you if you eat at their restaurants. Other than that, a wonderful place and lovely stay.

Breakfast buffet was tasty and many options. The room was clean and pictures don’t do the rooms justice, in person it was more updated and well kept. The rooms are updated and the amenities are wonderful. Stayed in a room with private Onsen and loved it. We tried karaoke and had a blast. Area is very quiet.

Breakfast buffet is very nice. It is mostly Japanese food but there is also western food as well. Dinner is Japanese and is quite formal and big. I was surprised by the good quality and quantity of the dinner.

This has been by far the most amazing stay i have experienced. The staff, the rooms, the facility the food was amazing. I cant wait to come back.

We stayed in a Kotone room with private bath. Spacious and comfortable with separate seating area. The hotel is very beautiful and exceptionally clean. Staff were very attentive and helpful despite our language differences. Breakfast buffet is extensive and of high quality. Keiseke dinner was a 9 course adventure- excellent service and delicious food. Some culinary culture differences but a true Japanese experience. Yumotokan will always be a highlight memory of our time in Japan.

The shuttle will pick u up from a station! Really great all around stay! Food is little for dinner but still good. Public baths are less busy in the early afternoon from my experience.

Yumotokan is well run. From the moment we arrived at the Ogoto Onsen station for pick-up, to dropping us off at the end of out stay, the staff was friendly and courteous. The baths were amazing and the food was delicious. Highly recommend the ketone rooms with the private baths!

Amazing. Seems expensive, but what you get is amazing. Spend the extra Yen and get a floor in the Luxury floors. VIP lobby, foot bath. Private in-room onsen. Dinner and breakfast. Great view of Lake Biwa. The nicest place I have ever stayed in. Free pickup and return to the train station.

Having a private bath in the patio was great. Staff was courteous and friendly, the food was excellent, and having three different open air hot spring was a plus. Ideal for solo travelers.
