Beautiful Hotel excellent staff

Beautiful hotel. The elevator was not working during our stay, but the staff was wonderful and very helpful.

Nowhere near a 5* room. No storage in bathroom, shower leaked. Great historic building inside communals and outside, ample breakfast with good choice. Decent gym. Nice bar. Room service left in corridors continually. Nowhere near 1 hotel, Nobu, The Newman etc etc.

The hotel is lovely and the staff are great Our only slight disappointment was the size of the rooms. The standard rooms are small. And although beautifully decorated we found ourselves falling over each other Next time we would upgrade the room choice Breakfast was fab!

My experience was wonderful clean room and the staff were very helpful.

Lifts were up and down ( pun intended) They were NOT working most of the time due to break downs. Weekday staff were very helpful during the lift problems. Weekend staff were indifferent Now to my shower. It flooded all over the bathroom floor both times I used it. Two repair people came to look at it and just concurred that it needed fixing but did not fix it Finally the server in the restaurant on our final night kept trying to upsell and her attitude was quite abrupt

We arrived and the lifts were all out of order - this is an 8 floor hotel. We had to walk up all the flights in 36° heat to get to our rooms and the poor staff carried most of the bags. We were travelling with a party with 3 separate rooms. One person suffered the night without any air conditioning. Another took a shower which flooded the bathroom. The next day repair people came and thankfully the air conditioning problem in the one room was fixed. The other room that flooded a person came and poked a standard screw driver around the rubber floor barrier took out the drain filter and stuck it back in and said he didn't know why it flooded all looked OK. It happened again the next day. Next day still no lifts working. Walking up and down the flights of stairs in the extreme heat. Went to dinner the final night at the Fitz. Our server was so pushy upselling she turned us off. Charged over $12.00 CAD a bottle for still tap water that they fill in house (read the label). Food was good but 1 hamburger and fries, 1 duck curry, 1 fish and chips, 1 pork chop, a bread and little bowl of olives cost $326.11 CAD - it was crazy expensive and the upselling was so off putting. At no time was a complimentary anything offered - drink in the bar, a breakfast, nothing, not a note left in the room appologizing for the inoperable lifts especially in the extreme heat. NEVER, would I return to this hotel or their affiliates especially for the price they charge for their rooms.

We were visiting London during a heat wave. The hotels air-conditioning wasn’t very good and in fact, the first night there my room didn’t have ANY air conditioning. It was fixed the next day. I heard other guests complaining that their air-conditioning wasn’t working as well. When we arrived and at various times during our stay, the elevators were not working. The restaurant food is very expensive and the waitress we had was very pushy , did not like her at all. All in all, I think this is an overpriced hotel in an OK location . The connection to the Titanic was interesting, bed and pillows comfortable. Room was not noisy. Other people in my group had a dripping bathroom tap and a leaky shower in their room. The free tuck box was nice (chips/cookies/popcorn) , especially since it was replenished daily. Complimentary tea/coffee, fruit and croissants available in the mornings near the front desk. Would I stay here again? NO.!!! The gentleman that handled my checkout was basically not very friendly. Didn’t even ask how my day was or thank me for staying there. Did I receive any compensation because the air-conditioning was out in the room one night and the elevators weren’t working? NO!

Great property staff was excellent! Only bad thing was the elevators being down for three days.

Carpet in room looked old but otherwise nicely appointed.
