My husband and I felt completely misled by this hotel. The website and photos make the property look modern, upscale, and inviting, but our experience was nothing like what was advertised. Based on our stay, I have a hard time believing many of the recent positive reviews accurately reflect the current condition of the property.
Upon arrival, we immediately noticed a large number of individuals who appeared to be homeless or struggling with substance abuse in the surrounding area. Unfortunately, since our reservation was prepaid, we had no choice but to stay.
The hotel lobby and café were actually quite nice, but the check-in experience was disappointing. Instead of being greeted by a front desk employee, we were directed to check in using a person on a video screen. There were staff members standing behind the front desk, but they never acknowledged us—not even with a simple hello or directions to the virtual check-in. We felt completely ignored.
After checking in, we were directed to a separate building through a parking garage and into a small, dimly lit elevator with a four-person limit. The walk to our room felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming. Once inside, the room itself was dark and outdated. The carpet had numerous stains, and our window overlooked a large encampment.
To be fair, there were a few positives. The shower had excellent hot water, and the housekeeping staff appeared to do the best they could to keep the rooms clean despite the condition of the property.
