Seven of us stayed here many years ago and loved it, we were blown away by the beauty of the place and the kindness of everyone we met at the hotel. We had new people with us this time and raved about how excited we were to share it with them….this time we just felt disappointed. The staff was friendly enough, but there was no warmth from anyone other than the cleaning lady who was very kind. When we booked, it showed under amenities that breakfast was included. Upon arrival we were told that it was not included and cost 15.00 euro per person. It was definitely not a breakfast of that value. We tried to make a case showing what their website said about breakfast being included vs. every other place we stayed in which it stated specifically that there would be a fee. The front desk girl was kind enough about the situation when she tried explaining things, but it still left us with a bad taste as the explanation made no sense as it showed breakfast included as an amenity with no additional fee.
The sparkling wine and chips in the garden were a nice touch to start our stay.
The bedding was substandard, not soft at all and the pillows offered zero support as they were all so flat.
We are a very friendly family and found everyone to be very pretentious and we didn’t feel the warm welcome we had several years ago. We left feeling heavy hearted about this stay. Sadly, this will be our last stay at Villa Stucky.
