We loved this hotel. It is just a 20 minute walk, and five minutes on transit from the main touristy district. We prefer not to be right in the center of the tourist district, because the restaurants are all a rip off, and it is noisy. The Up Hotel has lots of little shops and cafes around it that locals use. There is a lovely small park across the street, where they had a children's music show and farmer's market on Saturday. We paid a little extra for the top floor terrace and it was worth it. We could see the church on castle hill from our balcony. There are lots of transit options within a few minutes walk that will get you anywhere in Budapest quickly. Getting there from the airport is easy: take the e100 express but to the center of town, "Deak Ferenc" and go 2 stops on the metro to "Octagon". From there just a couple of blocks walk. Travel usually comes with a few hassles, even on a good trip, but this time it didn't. I kept saying to my wife I felt like I was cheating, because this is all too easy.
