Wonderful place! We have stayed twice!

Good stay . Owners are awesome and would stay again highly recommended

We had an amazing stay here for my birthday trip, and I truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience! From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, including assisting with dinner reservations and recommending and booking activities around the island. Before arriving, we scheduled massages through the hotel, and they were absolutely amazing! It was the perfect way to relax and start our vacation. One thing I highly recommend is renting a car while visiting St. Maarten. The hotel offers free gated parking with secure gated access, which made exploring the island easy and stress-free. The food was excellent throughout our stay. Every lunch we had was delicious, and the complimentary breakfast was always fresh, filling, and a great way to start the day. The property itself is beautifully maintained and exceptionally clean, and the beach access is unbeatable. Being able to walk right onto such a beautiful beach was one of the highlights of our trip. Overall, this hotel exceeded all of our expectations. Between the outstanding service, incredible massages, delicious food, beautiful property, and perfect location, I would absolutely stay here again. 10/10, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to St. Maarten!

We had such an amazing stay at La Playa Orient Bay. By the time we left (after just 5 days) we knew nearly everyone's names. The service all around was very wonderful. Complimentary breakfast by the beach each morning was delightful. Jean Charles and Tristan took amazing care of our group for lunch and beach service. The beach was kept pristine, raked each morning. Fresh towels provided daily. Plenty of water sports to rent just a few feet down the beach. We were never in need of anything and look forward to returning again!

Overall it was a wonderful place, but here are few things we did not like - beach service shut down at 5pm, so even the bathroom/shower to rinse off the sands were turned off after 5pm. Only 2 bath towels for us in the room, so I didn’t have a towel for my hair. There was no hair conditioner, you need to buy one there or BYO. Very strict beach towel rules, they will charge a fee if you lose your towel. Very strict Nespresso capsule allocation - you only get 2 per day, so I had to go buy more from the store. The pool did not look great so we didn’t go. Neutral things - they “upgraded” us to a garden view room, but the way they told us was like, “you should appreciate what we did for you” - they can do better with hospitality/communication. Also, the garden view - if it is a “garden view”, I don’t want to see a ginormous satellite antenna or utility equipments. The “view” wasn’t so great. No ATM on site or anywhere near. Positives - spa service was great, really enjoyed the massage. They accommodated our early arrival and let us check in early. They upgraded us to a better room. Breakfast was wonderful. Beach chairs were set up daily and really enjoyed them, beach was beautiful, even with seaweeds. The kitchen in the room was excellent, I love efficient kitchen set up. Easy access to the “village” where you can have dinner and buy groceries. They can probably improve with staff communication and room decor - bathroom was very “white” they could use an accent wall.

We have stayed at La Playa for the last 5 years. This is a great location for people not wanting to drive after dark. The restaurants of Orient Village or Ti Palms are right next door. Excellent French and Italian dining! There is a small grocery even closer that has a good selection and will save you a trip to the Match or Super-U. If you want to skip the included breakfast, the Good Morning is a great alternative for French pastries. We do not use the beach at the hotel, only because we meet up with friends on another part of the beach. This year, we noticed that the included breakfast buffet has improved with increased fruit and pastry selections. However, minor things like salt and pepper shakers not working still persist. Also improved is the TV channel selection with the addition of the Miami network stations. We stayed 15 nights this time. The bed was comfy, the refrigerator kept my Heineken cold, and the air-conditioning was killer! La Playa is my recommendation for anyone wanting to stay on the French side in the Orient Beach area.

I thought the overall hotel was nice it appeared clean to the eye, but I started receiving some sort of insect bites on my shoulders, face and legs the second day I was there. I didn’t have this issue when I arrived Monday and still some itching today after arriving home Friday. The breakfast was normal but birds were flying along trying to eat. There was no gym and a small pool. I told the waiter exactly how to make a cocktail it came back wrong, it was terrible for $21.00. I never did see the restaurant even though there was a direction sign.

Great stay, clean property, lovely and nice staff, rooms a smidge outdated.

Le staff était très accueillant et à notre écoute. Ils ont été formidables. Les seules notes négatives étaient la télé qui ne fonctionnait pas toujours bien et la présence de fourmis dans notre chambre. Peut-être penser à offrir des produits contre les fourmis dans les chambres. Autrement, je recommande.

Great location, close to many great restaurants, direct access to the beach. Breakfast is fine and outdoor. Staff is nice and welcoming. We were there beginning of July.
