The rooms were disgusting the staff wasn’t even cleaning them. Everything was expensive and was about money. The maintenance was nonexistent to the rooms. This is far from a 5 star hotel

The hotel amenities were nice; however, the hotel was not that clean. For two days, we saw the same dirty spot on the floor (it looked like a dried drink), and it wasn’t until the day before we departed that they finally mopped the floors. We also saw a few roaches inside the room. They told us that this is normal in Maui, but for a hotel that charges over $1,000 a night, you expect a higher standard of cleanliness. Other than that, the hotel is located in a very nice spot, and the amenities were amazing, especially the Grotto Bar.

Service was amazing during our stay. My wife forgot her new Maui hoodie in the closet and four days after we were home it just showed up in the mail from the hotel. Next level service! Property was perfect, restaurants were expensive but amazing!

Overall property was ok. Very large property with walk to pools and beach not very close. Walk back to rooms is all uphill. Restaurants on property are exexpensive. Cabana and beach chair umbrella rental are also very pricey. Be ware if you leave belongings unattended for longer than an hour staff will remove from chairs. Didn’t happen to us but many other families returned to thier chairs after playing in pools, ocean and slides to find there belongings gone and get confrontational with people who now occupied thier chairs. Staff need to be more present and explain this so all parties understand. Rooms themselves very nice and clean.

Property and pool is why you come. Room was large but dated. Staff is the worst part of the experience. Less than helpful. Not very friendly, specially front desk and pool staff. Make you pay to use beach chairs and umbrellas! Make you pay to use Teen Club ( The Cave). What the heck is my resort fee for? Other resort’s at this level welcome you with a drink, warm towel…nothing! Property is amazing. Pool fantastic. If you stay in the Molokini wing you are gonna walk A LOT to get to pool. Takes a day or two to figure out logistics and elevators.

Overall, the Grand Wailea is a great hotel, however, as a guest you feel like you’re just a cog in the machine. We had a great time, but never felt that over the top service / experience that you would expect for a hotel with the reputation that it has / costs as much as it does

If you wanted to sit by the pool, you need to get in line by 7 AM to place your towel and if they see your chair unattended for at least one hour they move your belongings. The cabanas, food etc way overpriced. If you want to sit at the beach, you have to pay $150 to rent two chairs and an umbrella. The chairs are crammed in next to each other. No space between them no privacy can’t have a conversation without hearing everyone else else’s next to you. A main waterline broke not the hotel’s fault but we went 12 hours without water. You had to buy water if you were thirsty. Couldn’t shower and the pools were dirty.
