A perfect location for our visit to York. An easy walk into the old city and close to the train station. The staff were super helpful, always available to help us with our questions. The hotel has two restaurants and a great breakfast. Highly recommend this hotel for your next trip to York.

Hotel was perfect for our needs, outside the centre but just a 10 minute walk away from it so quiet on a night. Clean well maintained bedroom with a lovely shower. The staff were so friendly and helpful, they went over and above to help us. The hotel was so good we're thinking of going back later in the year.

Our stay at The Churchill Hotel in York was, overall, an excellent experience and one that both my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed. From the moment we arrived, we found the staff to be extremely professional, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. The level of customer service was one of the strongest aspects of the hotel and certainly contributed greatly to our enjoyment of the stay. When we initially arrived, the room we had booked turned out to be considerably smaller than we had expected. Although there was nothing particularly wrong with the room itself, it simply did not offer enough space for my wife and i to feel comfortable, particularly when travelling with luggage. We spoke with the hotel staff about our concerns, and I have to say that they handled the situation extremely well. The following day, they were able to move us into a much larger room. The difference was considerable, and the larger room completely transformed our experience. From that point onwards, our stay was extremely comfortable and enjoyable. We were very grateful to the staff for listening to our concerns and making the effort to accommodate us. The hotel building itself is older and has a great deal of character, which is very much part of its charm. Obviously, with an older and historic property, there are certain practical limitations. The parking area is particularly tight and can be quite challenging when the hotel is busy. Manoeuvring a larger vehicle in and out certainly requires confidence

Very nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Room was comfortable and clean but very warm, with only one small window that opened. Fortunately, we weren’t there during the heatwave as it would have been unbearable.

The staff were friendly and helpful at check-in and whenever we interacted with them. Our room was clean and in good condition. The outdoor beer garden was a great place to enjoy an afternoon drink, and family friendly for our five-year-old to join. The hotel was located a short distance from the Bootham Bar entrance to the city centre and conveniently located near other amenities.

A lovely compact hotel with exceptionally helpful staff and a wonderful garden for sitting out in for drinking and eating. Nothing can be improved. Well done.

Clean room but small. No AC. Very nice location, staff and pub!
