The 3:00 check in time was delayed until 4:40 due to, “rooms not cleaned due to being short staffed.” This is not a huge surprise but the staff was repeatedly rude while communicating this. Most of the front desk and restaurant staff were rude for the first three days of our stay. The hotel looked run-down and the room I stayed in smelled musty. I would not recommend this hotel.

When I paid, it said breakfast was included. When I got to the room, they said it wasn't. I even showed them where it said included and they didn't honor it. The hotel was decent but not worth the money at all.

Nice clean room with beautiful views of the harbor. Very helpful nice staff and close to walk Old Port restaurants.

It’s years since I stayed at Holiday Inn by the Bay. It was just as I remembered with more amenities and perfectly located near the Waterfront and Fore Street. Great base for enjoying Portland and all she has to offer. Next time we’ll stay more than 1 night!

There were a lot of little things that added to just an okay visit. The room wasn’t ready until 5:30pm despite a 3pm check in, house keeping didn’t come one day at all, and didn’t come until almost 4 on the 2nd day, etc

Front desk receptionist said to me after he hung up a conversation over the phone that he didn’t know what I was requesting because he couldn’t hear me and understand. I was requesting to clean the room after two days without service.

The check-in was so easy and the staff was so friendly and helpful. They gave us recommendations for food and sights. The location was perfect for both the old port and the art district. The room was beautiful and welcoming but was even better was the beautiful view of the bay. We loved waking up to the beautiful view. Parking was easy and the hotel was comfortable.
