Room Mate Collection Mia, Rome Colosseum

We stayed 7nights/8days. We had booked a larger room deluxe room (280 sqft as advertised on Expedia and their website) but were definitely given the smaller superior room. At first we were told it’s the same but another room will be available the next day (even though Expedia still showed 2 more rooms available). We were told to stay the night in the room given and will be shown another the next morning. The rooms are not soundproofed at all. The first night we were on the first floor around the corner from the reception. You could hear everyone walking/talking through and even when reception called our room I could hear them calling from the desk. People arrived late at night and could hear them up until 2am. The following morning we were shown another room. Keeping an eye on detail as advertised this room came with Dyson hairdryer compared to the original room they insisted was the one we paid for. The room was slightly bigger but at least away from the front desk noise on the second floor. We were wrong, it happened to be the corner on the floor where the housekeeping would park their carts everyday. From the occasional guest noises coming through, the housekeeping chatting amongst one another or yelling down the hall all made it through the walls. It’s an old building I understand but then don’t advertise it as soundproofed. Overall it was good for what it was but left a sour taste trying to get what we paid for.

The ac , service , beds were all amazing You may 1st walk in and underestimate the place based on a very ok lobby - but the service , rooms , especially the people at the desk at night Sooo nice and welcoming!!! Breakfast was ok - nothing special , they may want to consider an omelet chef

Perfect location for the Colosseum and Forum. Easy access to the Metro to reach other areas like the Vatican. Excellent nearby restaurants, which are good value, even those adjacent to the sites, that was a surprise! The hotel is great, our executive room was marvellous, spacious, clean and importantly quiet. Effective blackout curtains and air con. In room safe was excellent and sturdy. Breakfast was generous and all encompassing of any taste. You can look at the Colosseum from the roof top terraced area if wished whilst eating, or sit in air conditioned comfort if you prefer. Main negative was the coffee at breakfast was a big disappointment as it was machine delivered, tasted powdery with an after taste and slightly burnt too (this is Italy, so a big let down). We are big coffee folk, so this was a miss for us. Other niggles were the en suite bathroom, which had an excellent big shower but small bathroom entry leading to that, odd design and felt cluttered and small as a result. The room mini bar was fully stocked but very expensive, and the stock left little space to your own purchases (a 24hr Carrefour is just around the corner). Items were present in the room that were not on the menu and it was unclear what was 'free' and what was chargeable. Overall a great hotel, slightly on the expensive side per night but competitive for the area.

The rooftop terrace bar was so cosy and gave a great view / sunset view of the Colosseum. The hotel was clean and tidy! The room was spacious, modern and clean! All staff were so helpful. Would highly recommend

Beautiful hotel. The rooms are nice and the beds are comfortable! LoCated on a nice street and close to the coliseum.
