We chose this property based on the photos, amenities, and positive reviews, but unfortunately our experience was very different.
The rooms were simple but clean, and Alfie was consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay.
That said, the advertised amenities did not live up to expectations. The property advertises complimentary bikes, paddleboards, kayaks, and outdoor games. However, there were only 2 bikes available, which wasn’t practical for our family of 4. Even worse, there were only 2 paddleboards and 2kayaks, and neither was usable. 1 paddleboard was literally falling apart, and the paddles were broken, so the whole setup was basically useless. The ping pong table was broken too, with no paddles available anyway. Paying a daily resort fee for amenities that are broken, unavailable, or barely functional is honestly ridiculous.
The continental breakfast was also much more limited than expected, consisting mainly of toast, bagels, cereal, and a few basic items.
The biggest issue occurred when we returned after spending the day on the water and discovered there was no running water anywhere on the property due to a broken pipe. I completely understand that emergencies like this happen and are outside of the hotel’s control. My disappointment wasn’t the broken pipe—it was the lack of communication from management. There was no proactive update, no acknowledgment of the inconvenience, and no offer of assistance or or accommodations.
