First of all, there was a massive queue for check-in, and this didn't seem to make any difference to the behaviour of the check-in staff, who continued to chat to each individual guest with no sense of urgency while the queue just got longer and longer.
Secondly, the decor in the lobby was almost laughable, with exposed plaster and patchwork. There was some kind of jerry-built lighting system above the check-in, which seemed like it had come off a campsite. The carpets in the corridors are threadbare.
The service in the bar was slow and surly.
The breakfast (which I chose not to take) was expensive, as were the bar snacks. There must be better places.
