The Alcala is a large motel close to the university and easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. It has large rooms fully equipped for cooking and dining.

Very clean, warm, comfortable beds, great location.

We stayed here for one night when we came down for the Otago University open day. The property was in walking distance of Otago university & te mall. Room was tidy & had the required amenities. Since ours was a downstairs unit, there was some noise due to people walking in the upstairs unit. The noise itself wasn't too disruptive. The owner was a cheerful & friendly old person with a smile on his face.

Close to town, plenty of restaurants and places to eat. A little noisy with students close by but expected over a weekend .
