Renaissance Philadelphia Downtown Hotel

Great location, clean room, nice staff, great atmosphere.

The room was okay. The facility seemed rather old and heater area was dusty. Coffee that we had to pay on the first floor was awful. Parking is detached from the hotel, which is not convenient and not free. Staff didn’t explain well.

I was bumped due to overbooking without prior notice and sent to their sister hotel which was far from comparable or convenient for why I was in Philly to begin with. Not happy.

We stayed over a weekend with family and were disappointed. This place could use a renovation. Our room wasn't ready, even when arriving after 5pm! The room was slightly smelly, warm water not always warm, air conditioning barely working, windows screwed shut. Stay away!

This hotel used to be nice. It is now overrated and overpriced. The location is great but the rooms and furniture are less than what you would expect. The valet parking was not well received and you can’t charge the cost if the valet to the room. It’s a pass for me next time. No thank you!!

When we received our room there was no hot water. We informed staff and within 30 minutes told them the room was unacceptable. They were unable to correct the issue. We "checked out" and went to another hotel. Renaissance said they would tell Expdia to give us a full refund but refused to give us any written statement of the condition. They have apparently not answered inquiry calls from Expedia. Expedia has not provided our money back. The Renaissance pool has also been permanently closed which is not reflected on their website.

We arrived late in the evening and got a room with no heat. We didn’t get a new room till the next day early afternoon. We waited and waited to move rooms. The second room had hardly any hot water. We were told” that’s probably because lots of people are taking showers now”! Seriously! The staff was rude and very uninterested in helping resolve both issues. Food was awful in the restaurant. There was no manager of the premises all weekend. This is not what we’d expect from a Marriott.

Great hotel and staff!!!!

The room was clean and situated in a convenient location. A lot of the historical sites are walking distance. Those that are farther, no problem, the metro is very near and well the rest is being able to fit time in order to do all the activities that you want.
