The Melia Medeira was a beautiful hotel! The pool was lovely and clean, they had nice entertainment in the evening and the front desk staff were very attentive and a great source of information as needed. The bar tenders were also super!! The room itself was very clean and the beds and pillows were comfortable. If I had to say anything as a form of help, my suggestion would be to update the washrooms. The entire hotel was so nice, but the washrooms felt dated and the shower was not great. Otherwise, we had a great stay at the Melia.

This hotel was lovely! We had a wonderful stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious with lots of options, including healthy options as well. The room was spacious and the view over the ocean and pool was a wonderful sight every morning. I would ask for the ocean view if I were you. Overall, an excellent stay.

Fantastic Location and Service

A good place to stay in Funchal away from the centre. The pool is very nice & the buffet breakfast has a lot of options. The beds are hard but this seems typical of Madeira. Our room was a bit untidy but again we had experienced this elsewhere too. The staff don’t really share a lot of information for example you can’t open your balcony door as it shuts off the air-conditioning or you need your key to actually exit the garage on checkout or you’re trapped in the garage. Some of these things would’ve been great to know beforehand. But overall it was an ok hotel.

Our stay was amazing. Only issue was the pillows could have been softer. Otherwise everything was wonderful.

Our stay at melia mare was faultless.. we had access to all that we needed.. great advise from head waiter re savings on meal options. Location superb. We would definitely stay again

Fantastic Location, with so many choices for meals nearby, the Lido walkway, and short bus ride to Funchal. Breakfast was amazing! Diogo at the front desk was incredibly helpful on arrival, departure and with suggestions throughout our stay. And such a lovely room was spacious balcony! Loved it

Great property and location, Clean hotel and rooms. Friendly staff and lots of great restaurants close by.
