Very tired hotel needs updating, not great state of maintenance - moth holes in curtains, woodwork in bathroom rotten and bleached from damp, loudest extractor fan on the planet in the bathroom, no aircon, radiator with no controls under window (with broken window catch) , tiny tv with faulty screen (white patch about 10cm), 'double bed' two singles put together, empty screw holes on back of door where other chains/locks had been. Hotel restaurant empty on saturday night? No amenities - gym 2.2 miles down the road, no pool, had to wait for bar service as no-one in attendance. Amenities list in hotel room is details of the bus service into York. Overpriced and disappointing.

The staff were lovely very helpful Room service was very good food was lovely But we were next to a fire door and it keeps on banging every time people walk through and very squeaky floor boads It was very clean but dated

Pleasant welcome from an Asian receptionist and other staff very helpful. Rooms very clean, decor bit dated in rooms but comfortable and very good value

Big suit and large bathroom. The building inside was old but in good condition. Breakfast was great and the service. I thought the price was reasonable. The bathroom was dated and needs updating.

This hotel didn’t disappoint. Location was great to visit York. Although we left there to move onto a hotel in the centre of York I actually wish we had stayed here instead, restaurant was good, staff were attentive.

Lovely hotel and staff , clean and comfortable room , hot shower & lovely buffet breakfast and grounds outside too and a little out of town but very easy by little bus ride or an uber to get back into town

Door to bedroom was difficult to close, probably dropped on the hinges. Amazing grounds to walk the dog, well kept.
