The staff was very accommodating and reminded us of old bed and breakfast places from years ago. They even had our breakfast ready early so we could get away early. If we come to Portugal again, we’d come back. Also, great restaurant recommendations.

Mr. Anvar and Ms. Rosa are the best hosts. We were always greeted with enthusiasm and kindness. The property was beautifully decorated, comfortable and restful. The delicious breakfast was served in the garden on the patio by Ms. Rosa and her helper. Our bathroom was recently renovated with gorgeous modern utilities. We hope to come back to Portugal. When we do we would love to stay here at this location again!

My partner and I stayed here for 5 nights recently. I haven't been back to Sintra for nearly 30 years and really wanted somewhere outside of Sintra's historic centre from which to explore the region again. This hotel was perfect. It hasn't been open for long and whilst that is apparent, it didn't detract from our stay. The location in Colares was perfect. Nestled on the main road to the coast, it is surrounded by lush forest at the foot of the hills on the banks of a beautifully wild river making it a perfect base to explore. The rooms were newly refurbished and were clean and comfortable with quality linen, furnishings and fixtures. Our room was in the separate building towards the back of the property in the grounds of the beautiful, slightly wild, work-in-progress gardens. The owner, Anvar, his wife, and his wonderful staff, were excellent hosts. Hospitable, warm and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts were good, especially when served outside on a gorgeous summer day but be aware, if you're a meat eater, that it is vegetarian. The overall vibe is somewhere between a small boutique hotel and a guesthouse so don't expect hotel vibes. The atmosphere is quiet, intimate and unobtrusive which is perfect for those seeking bucolic respite. I cannot recommend this place highly enough and I will definitely be back when I need to recharge my batteries. Great job and thank you for a wonderful stay.

If you happen to be in this area, this hotel is great. The owner, who is also the chef, created very tasty and visually appealing dishes for their free breakfast. The service was outstanding, remembering our order each morning. They anticipate all your needs. Special shout out to Filipa, who wears many hats and does all her jobs very well. Huge asset to the hotel. We will suggest this hotel to everyone who asks.
