River View Residence by Charles Bridge

The room was extremely small for 3 person, not like we could see on the pictures while making the reservation. Carpet looks horrible old and dirty but could be hidden under the bed. Location is perfect of course. There is coffee machine but not a cup you could use with this machine, not speaking about big capsules, that may be hard to find in nearby stores.

We are a family of four (two parents and two boys ages 15 and 13). We stayed two nights at River View Residence by Charles Bridge in late June 2026. Overall, we thought the location was amazing (!!!) and the room was an excellent value. The wifi worked well, it was a very nice space and very comfortable. Did I mention how amazing the location is? We loved being so close to the Charles Bridge and the charm, beauty, and excitement of central Prague. We enjoyed the view towards the castle from the room's two small windows. There were a few things to be aware of. The room is a little hard to get to (we had to park the rental car about 0.5 miles away), and a little hard to find (we found the building ok but didn't know where to go then). The room was up three flights of stairs, which was kind of challenge to lug our bags up when we were already from the walk. The weather was very hot and the room's air conditioning was ok, but the room was warm when we arrived and we had to wait for it to cool. There was a slight sulfur odor that affected some members of our party more than others. We came and went without ever meeting a property owner's representative, but one of the people working at the cafe downstairs was helpful when we arrived. We were under the impression that the room may have a view of the Charles Bridge over the river, but it did not. All this to say: the room is excellent, location is amazing, value is very high. It wasn't perfect, but totally worth the cost.

WARNING!! Rent this place at your own risk. The dirty old stained towel is what they gave us for five days in a heat wave when you need a cold water rinse twice a day. Look at the photos, the place is very dirty, carpet is so bad I kept my shoes on in the room. Mould throughout, very strong smell in bathroom. The pillows and blankets are disgusting they looked like someone slobbered on them. They need to be replaced. I think the photo speaks for itself, that awful blanket and flat stained pillow is the level of comfort you will receive at this property. On day five at 6 PM when the cleaner finally came, she removed two pillows and two blankets from our room leaving one bed completely empty. When I called the property to ask for it back they refused. Apparently their policy is one pillow per person even though those items were already in their room when we checked in. Not sure why she took it. She didn't even clean anything, all she did was remove a couple of plastic water bottles. People running this place are extremely rude. We only stayed here because the hotel across the street where we usually stay was full. Other reviews suggest this property is in a good location but I would not recommend this place to anyone, there are a dozen properties that are also in a good location within a two minute walk. This place needs a complete renovation and new management. Terrible. I will be filing a formal complaint with Expedia, people need to know, it's your paid for holiday!

Room was good and location was fantastic, but wifi did not work the entire time.

As we were travelling to Prague, we received a message with the check-in details and a request for a substantial deposit (apparently to protect the tech in the apartment?). As we were en route and not really in a position to argue at that point, we paid the deposit. While it has now been refunded, we're completely baffled about why this happened - there is nothing at all about this in the listing, and Expedia have nothing to say on the matter. I think it's important to raise it here in case it happens to someone else and they're unable to pay it. Luckily we were able to but I think it's really poor not to be transparent in the listing - and only to mention it the day before we arrived. Oddly, I can't see any other reviews mentioning this charge so I don't know if it was a mistake? There really wasn't any tech other than a TV! Other than that, the apartment was fine. It was very clean, the location is excellent and the view from the apartment window onto the castle (not a river view!) is absolutely stunning, especially at night. The bed was comfortable and it was nice to have a sofa and coffee table. Check in was smooth. As others say, there are lots of steps and no elevator (fine for us but others might struggle) and a shower curtain would be good. It would also be helpful to provide some coffee pods for the coffee machines as they're not very easy to find.

Kitchen was fully equipted and rooms were clean.

This room is in a fabulous location. However, our unit was a very small room, and up 3 flights of stairs (so pack accordingly)! The air conditioner was not working, but it was cool enough with the windows open. Microwave was also not working. Sheets and towels were clean. Room decor was very nice, and we felt safe and secure. I would absolutely welcome another stay at this location, but would request a larger room, even at a higher price. We were in the attic, so were cramped with limited headroom, but fabulous view of Charles River Bridge. For American tourists, I would caution that there is no top sheet on beds, which are two singles mattresses pushed together, and that the (only) two pillows are flat and firm. Room was quiet at night. Water in shower was hot and plentiful for both of us to have a long shower. There is a Nescafe Dolce Gusto machine, but we were not able to find coffee capsules at any of the nearby mini-markets, so bring your own! (Certainly possible I didn't look in the right place). From this location, we walked to almost all the sights in Old Town.

Checking in was very simple, the location is amazing, and they were very responsive to any questions I had. It was a great stay.

We loved this hotel! Great location and easily located near all the attractions. You can walk to most everything. Clean rooms. I would stay here again!
