I stayed here previously last year but since then, standards of cleanliness and general upkeep seem to have fallen.
In the bedroom, three of four pillows on the bed had brown marks on them; the dressing table chair had a long brown streaky stain on it (looked like đź’©) and in the bathroom, there was no rubber seal on the bottom of the glass shower screen, so water poured out onto the floor when showering. Other minor cosmetic issues included missing tiles under the bathroom sink, and scuffs on walls and furniture.
When I checked out and made the staff at Holiday Inn aware (not sure if they own or just manage the property) they were very apologetic and said they would look into it, so I cannot fault their customer service. If the apartment had been properly cleaned and maintained, I probably would’ve not even noticed the minor issues that were there, but it’s hard to overlook basic cleanliness and maintenance.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly, when checking in. The room was very well kitted out, with a fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, dishwasher, cutlery, crockery, hairdryer, etc. will be booking again.

Great staff, but the room was cold and it wasn’t very clean (the carpet was filthy). Staff helped by supplying a plug-in heater (room heating had broken) and this helped but the floor was still too cold to stand on for long!

The room was spacious and had more amenities than a standard hotel room. However, the room felt tired and in need of a refresh, and wasn't entirely clean, particularly in the bathroom.
The property is well located for Jesmond and the city centre and felt safe enough, with free parking a big bonus. Check-in at the hotel next door was easy.
The room was spacious and had all described amenities, and the bed was comfortable and clean.
However, carpets, sofa, bathroom flooring all looked visibly tired and the bathroom had significant dust, which did not change when cleaners visited during our stay. Additionally, the kettle was in poor condition (badly scaled).
Lastly, the hand soap and shower gel had clearly been topped up with water, possibly multiple times, and were therefore unusable. This was very disappointing, as toiletries are supposed to be included and this made showering difficult. I have never had this at any hotel I've stayed in before and I don't think this is acceptable practice.
Overall, the space is good, feels secure and is well located, but the condition of the room, particularly the bathroom, is poor.

Several things in the apartments were broken. Door to one of the cupboards, cracked floor tile. Didn’t cause me a problem but the place felt a little unloved
