Bagus Unfortunately this Ryokan is a 20 minute bus ride from the city centre located by a large overhead road.
The staff were nice and the room was comfortable but the building looked a bit tired.

Very Smokey throughout the building. Ohnsen was great. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Beds were perfect and soft. If it didn’t smell like smoke throughout the ping pong and tables and games would be a lot more enjoyable.

Staying here was amazing - a very good ryokan for the cost, it wasn't bougie but it was still amazing.
The room is a good size, the futons and comfy and the view with the garden is excellent.
Also, the staff were lovely, she spoke amazing English and was very friendly and helpful. She even had a map printed out showing what is in the nearby town (i.e. where to eat. laundromat and public transport). This was extremely helpful and showed that the staff care about our needs, and also walked us to our room.
The public bath was amazing as well.

Yes very nice bath, decent restaurants nearby. Just a little far from downtown but it wasnt a big deal

This place was charming and a real Japanese experience. The onsen (Japanese spa) was fantastic. I am so glad I stayed here.

Hebat Our stay at Ryokan Karasawa was lovely! The space was clean and peaceful, and the hosts were incredibly helpful and made us feel right at home. The guide to the local buses and food was invaluable. The building does show its age a bit, but at such a great price and location it's impossible to complain. The futons were REALLY comfy here, too. I'd definitely stay again!
