Clean room but freezing cold, the heater doesnt seem to work.

My parents had a negative opinion based on the past (over 20 years ago) and since we stayed here during winter magic festival (with two young kids), we can attest that the Metropole was completely positive and family friendly. The place has such a charm with clean, freshly painted and decorated decor, and modern renovations in the rooms while keeping a retro/vintage theme throughout that complements the history of the hotel. The dining area is beautiful and cozy, and staff were relaxed and professional. I had an exceptional cosmopolitan cocktail. And the location was great for walking to Katoomba st where the winter magic festivities happened in June. The only negatives were some creaky floors, a pretty steep hill to walk to get to Katoomba st, however nice and close to the station as well. Another great point was a usable lift which helped in the case of having a pram. I really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely stay again.

The room was clean and comfortable

Excellent central location with parking is a bonus. I didn’t try the buffet breakfast but it looked good.

Great little hotel. Well maintained, great location

It was by far the most charming place we've ever stayed in. AND just across the street from the train station (noise not a problem) so very convenient with luggage. Their breakfast buffet (not included but very reasonably priced) was good and plentiful. Around the corner from bus stops, with many local eateries within a couple blocks. Had a game room with pool table, library, bar, just can't say enough nice things about it.

Our stay here was wonderful! It’s definitely a more historic place so don’t expect a modern building or room but it’s was charming and perfect! The staff was wonderful and very friendly. I felt very immersed in the culture and it was perfect walking distance to dinner and shops.

Great location and lots of fun family activities. Even its situated crossed from railway station it’s an oasis for a family getaway!
