After allowance for the age of the building, everything worked satisfactorily. Imperial is situated right on High Street which has several good Thai, Korean and Viet food outlets. Imperial staff were very helpful and hospitable. A good place to stay over.

Parking was easy and the location was convenient. Great with the access to dinner. The available kitchenette was not very well maintained which was unfortunate. The room itself was a good size.

We paid extra for an ‘upgrade’ however they only have one room type and all rooms are shared bathroom. It was outright stealing neither Expedia or the hotel willing to refund the extra $71 I paid. Outright disgusting. Loud music and fighting out front all night. Bathroom was absolutely disgusting.

Cockroaches all over the shared kitchen and sink tap you get water from, encrusted in the lining of the fridge, and just when we thought the room itself was safe, woke up to some in our room. The “free breakfast” is some small servings of spreads and random stuff in the fridge and cupboards with broken doors, if you can get past knowing cockroaches have been on every surface. If you don’t see them, check after they’ve turned off the lights for the night, we got there about 10pm, and you can’t miss the 50 that scatter when you turn the lights back on. Weird hammering sounds all night to complement the army of bats outside, bar music cuts out randomly if you want to hang in there, and you cannot get 2 keys working at once for the same room, so if you’re sharing don’t split up unless someone’s left inside. After our first night we came back from our day out and asked for a refund and to leave, he was quick to give us a refund for 2 out of 4 nights with a scripted apology. We took it to get it over with but that place wasn’t even worth the one night we slept there let alone a whole extra night that we didn’t even sleep there. I can’t imagine how many nights have been paid for with no guests actually left in the room.

Beds were comfortable, bathrooms were ok, no included breakfast as advertised and loud band down stairs.

Traditional country hotel with old world charm, well kept and hospitable.

Great staff who looked after us with a late check in an ice bucket for a couple of night caps. Room was tidy and clean Can recommend highly enough
