Lovely historic hotel, full of period charm, beautifully maintained and very clean. The building is one of the most interesting examples of Art Deco in Napier and is located within easy walking distance of all the attractions you'd want to visit and several great cafes and restaurants. The standout feature for me was the shared courtyard terrace with a covered seating area where you can look out on Marine Parade while you sip your tea. Serene and relaxing! The staff were very professional and attentive. I would 100% stay there again.

The king studio room was relatively small but very well designed, had everything we needed for a long weekend, comfortable and had a couch for sitting, chatting which we preferred rather than a table + chairs If we stayed again would possibly opt for a partial or sea view as our room was close the air-con units we think and had a low hum during the late evening. The lift is ultra slow ( 1 floor hahaha ) but I guess that is the quirks of a beautiful Art Deco building. Quaint swap library for books, and having coffee on the seats on the balcony overlooking the sea are amazing.

We stayed in the Anna Povlova suite - a beautiful high-quality set of rooms overlooking the sea - spacious bedroom with comfortable king-size bed, ensuite shower & loo, twin sinks, separate bathroom, bath, loo & sink, spacious sitting room with fridge and tea/coffee making - and with door out to the veranda and roof-top seating. We were pleasantly surprised how quiet it was. The cost for all this was less than $200/night (off peak), amazingly good value. We enjoyed an evening meal with local wine. Again, beautifully prepared and served, and not expensive. The staff were excellent. We highly recommend this hotel.

5 star in every way, this art deco experience is accommodation in another creative level far different from any other hotel. We stayed in the Mark Twain Suite and wow. We wont ever stay at another hotel when we visit Napier. Highly Recommend to any travellers, it wont dissapoint. Amazing restaurant and bar down stairs as well.

Clean room, helpful staff, great having the Rose in the same building. Nice food reasonably priced and tasty. Bed very comfortable Will stay again

Loved our stay in the this beautiful historic hotel with all the art deco touches. Wonderful staff too who were super helpful. Great location with walkable access to cafes, bars, shopping, etc. Overnight parking space was easy too. Will definitely stay again.

It’s a great place, one of the best hotels in the country.
