The hotel was lovely, clean and the staff were all wonderful. However if you have any mobility issues be aware there is no lift and the stairs are a killer.

The stairs are brutal. They are narrow and steep. The breakfast was ok for a day or 2 but they serve the same spread every morning. The bathroom was clean but the carpets were all dated and dirty looking.

Cosy small hotel in a quiet but central area.

We we’re located on the 4 th floor in an attic style room with portal window and a fan saying it was 38c temperature ( it was 95f outside ), after finding pictures of room i booked, went down to reception which 4 floors of steep stairs ( our and luggage were left at the reception because of the steep stairs) and explained the room was nothing like the picture and was told not all room are alike. After a little while another room was offered a room still on the 4 th floor which even the receptionist got out breath going up the stairs when showing us the other room, the room was more of a standard room and a bit cooler which we accepted. Terrible is a bit harsh but I have difficulty giving it 2 stars mainly the building is old and not much could be done to improve it unless they can find a way of putting an elevator in for a start and replacing some carpeting

Incredible location, and great value because of that. The breakfast was quite poor, the carpets, hallways and rooms were very tatty, and badly managed in my opinion. Most concerning was the hotel not having hot water for the first morning of our stay, when I asked staff they mentioned they had notified someone but didn’t know when it would be fixed. I wasn’t the only guest asking, and not having any plan or timeline for fixing seemed unprofessional given what a basic function that is. Also on check in I was told I was “upgraded” to a room with 3 single beds, instead of the double bed I booked - as they didn’t have any of those available. Not an upgrade for anyone in that circumstance! Altogether it’s a budget hotel, so I’m not terribly upset, but some basics were missing and felt keen to note to anyone booking.

Had a great stay the staff were lovely and easy to ask questions too about were to go out for food, bars and clubs. You’re right next to 2 museums but kinda far from down town but the walk is 20 min and has some good sightseeing. Overall 8.7/10

As a fit person, I didn't mind the very steep stairs, but I could see the frail or elderly not enjoying it. I loved having a nice neighborhood view out the window and the neighborhood itself was quiet. The walls were pretty thin, but had only a few rooms per floor.

Room was not like advertized, It was much smaller i couldnt even move around the room there was no place to even put my bag this is how small it was. I booked a single room for 1 person, I went to the reception and asked to change my room because this is not what i paid for. Thankfully, they agreed, and I got a bigger room not a big difference in size, but at least there is a place to move and put my luggage. sheets were very dirty; there was a stains on my bed and housekeeping came everyday and ignored it and there is dust around everywhere

Hotel Washington is a no frills hotel in heart of the museum district of Amsterdam. What you lack in amenities you gain in location and save in terms of cost per night. The room was clean, the hotel itself was very charming, and everyone was helpful. There isn’t ac or an elevator(lift) but our room was actually quite cool and they were able to find us a fan to help. Overall great stay.
