Best quality / price of my trip to Japan. If i could, i would have stayed longer.

Our stay at Kanra Hotel in Kyoto was amazing. It was so hot out and when we got there, we were greeted with a warm welcome by the staff and gave us cold towels. While I checked in, my family and I were offered free drinks. The staff were extremely hospitable. We were in for a beautiful surprise when we got to our room. There was a wooden gate that led to our room and when we went in, it was absolutely gorgeous and immaculate. We needed another futon set up and they did that immediately. Our room was cleaned and towels changed every single day. I cannot say enough about our stay - we would stay there again. The Walkers (July 2026)

Very nice stuff

Excellent hotel with really helpful staff - check in was great and the staff took the time to provide recommendations on sightseeing and provide maps, etc. Rooms were really spacious!

Hotel was excellent with very attentive service, very good for English speaking, non-Japanese. Location is one metro stop from Kyoto station, which made travel using the Shinkansen very easy. We like to walk around so many sights were within a few miles or just jump on the metro to get around town. Hotel had impeccable cleanliness. It is not a typical high end US the spaces were not as big as your standard four seasons or Fairmont. But you get a lot of Japanese character and a thoughtful experience. Thank you Hotel Kanra!!

The hotel is in a really great location. Staff were kind and helpful. It would be nice to have a gym.

The staff was very helpful and did their very best to help us. The rooms were spacious but a lot of noise comes from the busy street. We requested a room change and the staff was very accommodating.

Excellent stay in Kyoto. The hotel is spotless. The staff are wonderful and helped with subway information etc. The room was perfect for our family of 4 (2A and 2C 8yrs and 12yrs). We had 2 double beds plus 2 futons. Bathroom is huge with the deep bath and separate shower. The toilet is also separate. The free drinks and crackers in reception are a lovely treat - coffee, tea, juice, beer, wine, sake and iced water. 711 is a couple of doors down, great ramen across the street and the best donut shop across the street as well. The subway station is also across the street - one stop to Kyoto main station and a couple of stops in the other direction for downtown/CBD area. Highly recommend.

Very quiet and chic hotel. Close to Kyoto Station and city attractions.

The hotel has a minimalist and relaxing interior design. The breakfast was abundant and the staff cheerfully welcomed us every day. What stood out was the reception that helped me set an appointment with an international clinic for my stomach pain. Thank you, Kanra reception ! 🙏
