Nice airconditioned rooms, excellent location by the beach and close to the old town ond restaurant streets. Very friendly and helpful staff

I arrived at the hotel after departing a cruise to drop off mg luggage around 9:30 am. Amazing, a young woman, helped me. She said I could check in between 2:30 or 3:00. I returned about 2:00 as I was extremely exhausted and needed to check in. I am 77 years old and it was very hot in Nice. She brushed me off. At 2:30 pm I tried again and she would not give me a room. I paid a premium price. Meanwhile, a man came in, was given his stored luggage, and she checked him in with every courtesy. Finally at 3 pm I asked to check in. I was actually faint and very exhausted. She took my passport and told me she wanted a $450.00 deposit. She told me the electronic wifi reader was not working and she asked for cash. I have traveled all over the world since probably this young woman was born and have never had z check in even close to this. She finally checked me in and gave me a very noisy room. She was extremely rude to me every time i asked for mg water bottle to be refilled. This woman needs to be reported. Bad news!

We had a great stay at the Le Royal. Oceanfront room on the 5th floor with an expansive view of the Bay of Angels and the Nice coastline. Right on the promenade it was easy to get to the beach, lots of shops and places for bites around, and an easy stroll to Place Massena or Vieux Nice. The room was a nice size, very clean, and had a big comfortable bed. The service was great; we made a few requests and the staff was always pleasant and helpful.

Book this hotel for the location. The staff is very friendly and professional. On the negative side, the hotel is dated. The room is not upgraded, with carpet, and very small. The bathroom was ok, upgraded in the last few years but still under par compared to modern hotels.

Overall good stay at the hotel. Pros: location, spacious room Cons: hotel is a little tired Air con satisfactory but not super cool Noise from the road and nightlife could be an issue for some
