The hotel is pretty old in general and sort of poorly maintained. First is the blackout curtain was not properly postioned in the slot, it woke me up as soon as the sun rises. Then nearly half of the sockets are too loose to use. Can you believe the socket for the hair dryer is unuseable????? I have to plug it to a socket outside the washroom that's near the floor area.... This is really subpar as a Banyan Tree...

From the moment we stepped out of our Didi van, the staff were very welcoming and accommodating. They attended to our needs with patience and care. The breakfast buffet offers ample selections of Eastern and Western palates. The room is practically an aromatherapy session for the senses, offering a choice of aroma incense or aroma wax. The views of the Bund, day or night, were awesome. There are a couple of good shopping centers within walking distance and a jogging track if you feel like it. A perfect place to wind down and relax after all the hard work.

We have some feedback for the hotel! English services were lacking in a premier hotel like this. We expected and had received better language services in other hotels around Shanghai that were in less touristy areas. Communicating with the front desk for simple requests (water, pens, towels, bringing up delivery to our room) often required multiple phone calls, each time with different people who seemed to not pass along the message especially when transitioning between day and night shift employees. No clothes steamer available. Only iron. This is unacceptable for a hotel that will service weddings and wedding parties. It’s OK to not have a steamer for every room, but the hotel needs to keep a stock of them in case guests request one. The hotel is in a magnificent location, but feel lack of maintenance. What a pity! Such a waste of being in the beautiful bund area!

Very spacious and elegant rooms with a fantastic oversized bathtub, with amazing view of Pudong. Delicious breakfast.
