Having air con in the room was a huge relief in the heatwave! However, throughout my stay there was a terrible smell of blocked drains around the reception area and near the restaurant.
Breakfast was acceptable, but not brilliant (fried eggs were hard and rubbery, the bacon & sausages rather sad, and there was a poor selection of cereal).
The whole place looked in need of a bit of TLC, but on the whole the staff were helpful.

Had a really enjoyable stay albeit short. We arrived late morning as we were heading to Cardiff for a concert. The receptionist Emma was really helpful and although our room was obviously not ready at that time allowed us to check in and gave me our room key. She also gave me information as to where to catch the bus to Newport.

The room was clean, however there was a strange smell in the whole hotel. Unusual smell but soon got used to it.
We didn’t eat at the restaurant, however we didn’t locate a breakfast place nearby either (other than McDonalds).
Could really do with the option of getting more coffee sachets, would have liked to have had one in the evening and in the morning.
Otherwise very good, adequate spaces for parking and close to the motorway.

We were very pleased with our spacious room. The air con was a little too enthusiastic, so we switched it off. However, the dining room was freezing! We needed an extra layer there. It was a very warm week, so it needed to be on, just not quite as cold.
The food was good, but our evening meal wasn't quite right at first. I have an intolerance to onions and despite informing the wait staff, the chef ignored the notes. This was soon rectified, but the mistake should not have been made.
The staff were friendly and helpful. Near the motorway, so easy to travel from; the room was very quiet even though the hotel is on a busy main road. An enjoyable stay.

Check in was easy with a nice welcome from reception staff. The room was nice and clean comfy bed. Bar staff very friendly. Breakfast was perfect.
