This is my second stay and honestly it’s my #1 recommendation for Japan. The Staff are wonderful. He was pretty fluent in English so no need to worry about a language barrier. The rooms are very clean. The lobby is a nice place to relax and even has a massage chair which is great after a hot bath. The location is perfect for exploring the area. It’s about a 6 minute walk from the train station.

Lovely old ryokan in the heart of nara. Housemaster was very kind and room had everything you needed. The little bath house was amazingly clean and well kept for such a small place. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting to visit nara who wants an authentic japanese experience

The traditional room was remarkable. I love the floor sleeping. The place has a nice public onsen. If you are into manga the owner has a huge collection to check out. Also there is a massage chair in the lobby that I recommend for after your bath. This place is tucked back off of the main road so it is quiet. I highly recommend this for a night or multi night stay if available.

The ryokan is very convenient, it is close to Nara park and railway station. Staff is friendly and helpful, the hot tub is a huge plus although you may need to learn the manner of using it beforehand and it's a bit small, the capacity is 2 persons. However there is no passenger lift available, if you hate stairs you may need to reconsider.
