The architecture is the main draw for a westerner. Beyond that, it's okay. The rooms are very large; beds very hard; breakfast buffet a bit pricey compared to outside but you're paying for the convenience and food was reasonably good. Location/distance is not bad despite looking far away on a map. Uber easy to be had. Overall, interesting to try and a nice, quiet place, but probably wouldn't stay twice.

Very nice stay at the grand hotel. We booked a room with lake view and truly enjoyed the balcony. The beautiful lake is accessible through a board walk behind the hotel. Make sure to get to the top of Zhongxing tower for amazing view.

만족해요 It’s an example of an Old World Hotel, the room was very large with great views. However you could see that just enough money was being spent on the place to keep it going. It smelt old and musty, fixtures were broken. The breakfast was of poor to average quality, and if you wanted to have a coffee in the coffee shop there was a minimum spend per person that was way more than a coffee!! The major issue is the location, you need a 20-30 minute taxi ride every time you want to go to Kaohsiung, as there is nowhere to eat close to the hotel.
