Awesome. Just awesome. From the extremely patient English speaking staff to the provided spa pajamas that you can roll around in, couldn't have asked for a better stay in this lovely town. The rooftop onsen and lounge make you dont want to leave the property. The breakfast was an experience each morning and the welcome drinks were great family time. There's a small Manga library, plentiful vending machines, some with snacks and the laundry was perfect for our needs. We had a triple and the room felt spacious. Thank you to the hotel for making our stay in Takayama memorable.

Wat Hotel in Takayama is excellent. Location is good, walking distance to Sanmachi Suji famous street, the red bridge and various other locations in the town. The property itself is fantastic, with a welcoming area where you get a free drink (beer included) per person when you check-in, very nice rooftop area. The rooms are amazing (we got a superior twin whose size was bigger than US-based hotels -- it was huge). Breakfast was fantastic. Parking was provided at 800 yen right there are the property. That said we went in early July so it wasn't crowded, I would imagine that busier travel periods may be different since the main parking lot fits perhaps 40 or so verhicles. Definitely recommend.

A great, centrally located hotel was super facilities. Warm, welcoming and friendly staff. Only complaint is with Expedia who advertise room as 3 bed sleeping 6 yet there are only 2 beds! We had booked for 2 adults and 3 children and so reception suggested that the children (13,11,11) sleep together in a snug double, Staff were very helpful, switched rooms around and said they would contact Expedia.

Well located hotel with an efficient, helpful staff. The rooms are quite large, well laid out with a sitting area and two double beds which were super comfy. The public and four private onsens were ideal for soaking to soothe tired muscles. Highly recommend!

We chose to pay more for this hotel as it seemed nice but we were very disappointed. The rooms are very small and there are no storage. The overall hotel is not nice and the location is terrible.

Good quiet location away from other large hotels and busy tourist areas, walking distance to trains and buses. Delicious buffet breakfast with many options, nice sized room, family onsen followed by popsicles and rooftop marshmallows were all great. Happily recommend.
