Convenient location and it was an easy transfer by taxi. We were 90 minutes early from our check in time but although our rooms were ready they were happy to charge us € 20 Euros for an early check in but not let us have them early. We left the luggage in storage and went for a stroll.

Quirky, characterful hotel walking distance from Helsinki centre. Was such a cool experience staying in a prison but with 5 star facilities. We had a great stay, great location, lovely food (im vegetarian and plenty for me) and super comfy beds. Highly recommend

Quite a unique and pleasantly quiet hotel. My room was pretty nice size and the bed very comfortable. The downside was that there was no aircon and the windows can’t be opened. Luckily there was a table fan. Although the room was mostly in good condition, some of the doors and doorframes could do with a little paint. Also, the paint was peeling very badly around the window in the bathroom. Breakfast was plentiful, I didn’t have a chance to try the fika, and only had dinner once and it was nothing very exciting for a vegetarian but the freshly baked bread was yummy. Other guests (omnivores) seem to be tucking in merrily so I suspect their food choices were tasty.

Hotel has had better days under old management was more upscale and better maintained. Good location

Great, cool hotel with amazing food, loved the incredible included breakfast and dinner. The public areas of the hotel are lovely,unfortunately room was less updated and very small for 2 twins. Also not having sauna open daily was disappointing

Very interesting place, maintained and clean. Bathing tub is very high and difficult to get in and out for older or arthritic people. Breakfast was good, should add decaf black tea, could not get black caffinated tea, although, many other were available. Mostly bacon as meat, with little or no choice for vegetarians and non bacon eaters! They tried to make some vegetarian food which was not edible! Dinner timings are too short 6-8 pm. Most nights we could not eat dinner due to this and also with no alternative to Bacon such as fish or chicken. Dint understand , why we had to request room cleaning a night before at the reception, instead of a door notice ! Staff very helpful and smiling. Number 4 tram stop just outside the hotel wall, which is great for commute. Walking distance about 20 minutes to the centre of the town. Well equipped gymn but sauna was out of order .

This hotel is conveniently located near a trolly stop. That helps navigate the city. The hotel itself is a comfortable place to stay. The included food service is excellent. You are provided breakfast which is extensive, fika, and dinner daily. Everything food wise is excellent. The rooms are well decorated and the beds are very comfortable. I would definite stay here if I returned to Helsinki. It is walking distance to the Viking ship that you can take a day trip to Tallinn. It’s a short tram ride with a 5 minute walk or so from the train station. The WiFi in the hotel was good enough for our needs. We did install the Hsl app so we could utilize the public transport. With that you can easily get all over Helsinki using public transport. Anyway this is a solid hotel with a lot of extras included

It was comfortable, clean and the best hotel we had in Northern Europe. Free breakfast, fika and dinner included. Very interesting place with lots of history and good food.

A bit of wear and tear in the room. Staff were excellent. Dinner lacked variety, both meals could use better labelling.
