I stayed at Avani Jazz Melbourne for six nights to celebrate my birthday. When I booked the hotel back in April through Hotels.com, I sent a message asking if it would be possible to have a room with a nice view since it was a special trip. They replied thanking me for choosing them to celebrate my birthday and said they would do their best to accommodate my request. Since I booked several months in advance, I thought that would be enough time to note it. When I arrived around 6:00 a.m. after travelling overnight, I asked if I could check in early. The receptionist told me there was a $120 fee, which would cover both the early check-in and an upgrade to a room with a view. Since I was exhausted, I agreed. When I mentioned my earlier request, she said there was nothing about it in their system, so I had to show her the message from April before she could find it. The room itself could have been cleaner. The exhaust vent above the shower was missing its cover and was completely covered in dust and lint, like it hadn’t been cleaned in a very long time. Another small issue was the no housekeeping, shouldn’t apply for stays longer than 4 day, so there was no collection of rubbish or changing sheets or towels. The staff were friendly, and the location was great, but for a birthday trip and after paying an extra $120 for early check-in and a room upgrade, I honestly expected a better overall experience.

Great people and communication prior to and during stay. Nothing a problem. Very happy with cleanliness and was exactly what I expected. Thoroughly recommend.

A larger than expected studio apartment on the 30th floor with great views over Melbourne. and Flagstaff gardens. Would highly recommend

Great quiet location on the North west corner of Melbourne city. Easy to walk or tram around. The Hotel was clean and adequately appointed but the staff made it a great stay - helping with directions and suggestions.

Wifi password randomly changes and all devices disconnect, so frequently have to go ask for the new password.

Staff at the front desk were awesome. Especially the young man working on the front desk in the afternoon/evening when i stayed there.I cant remember his name unfortunately. Anyway all staff were friendly,extremely helpful and efficient. I had a terrific stay thank you. Only gripe is the king bed is 2 beds clumsily attached to each other. Like we wouldnt notice? 😁😁Easy fix. I will request a queen bed next time. Other than that 9.5/10

The Avani is in a great, central location. Its easy to find, the room was exceptionally clean with everything you could hope for by way of amentities and the staff were amazing (particularly Yadesh who was an absolute delight).

Housekeeping is an issue. My stay was without housekeeping BUT the kitchen inventory was missing bowls and some cutlery on arrival. After mentioning to staff and a promise to fix, this was never done in a 5 day stay. TV had audio assist turned on without an obvious way to turn off and staff sent to remedy had no idea about anything. This was my third stay in a hotel owned by this chain over the last 6 months, mainly for the kitchen convenience - 2 Oaks (Auckland and Geelong) and this Avani in Melbourne CBD. All had these same issues. Housekeeping staff don't know what to do! Or don't care. This is a middle management or even upper operational management issue apparent across the hotel chain geographically so that says pretty clearly that it's a systematic issue. If familiar with global fast food chains, it's similar to the tight management structure of a certain hamburger chain contrastint with a certain messy chicken chain. These hotels fit into the latter. You might get something OK but the edges will be "rough".

Excellent front staff and really nice bonus ensuite washer dryer with detergent provided.

My recent 2 week stay at Avani Melbourne Jazz Corner Residences honestly couldn’t be faulted. The location, convenience and affordability are unmatched, especially for longer work trips. The serviced apartments are comfortable, practical and well maintained, making it easy to settle in and feel at home. What really stood out though was the team. Every staff member was friendly, accommodating and always happy to help with anything needed throughout my stay. This will absolutely be my go-to accommodation for future work trips to Melbourne. Highly recommend.
