Great views of the lake. We even got to see multiple fireworks shows on the lake during our stay. It was a super convenient location for us to explore Kyoto, Uji and Lake Biwa. To clarify, we had a car. My only complaints would be, I wish the rooms were a bit bigger and the AC a bit stronger.

Rooms and fixtures were rather outdated, but experience was very good. Appreciated free shuttle to/from Otsu station. Great view from room, but limited dining options nearby. Hotel restaurants were adequate.

Beautiful views and location but an older hotel that shows some signs of wear. The bed was very comfortable even being a 6'3 American and the extra space and seating felt more like a hotel at home rather than the tiny hotel rooms in Tokyo. You cannot beat the view, you tower above any other hotel and the windows are gigantic and clean. The views of the city are available in the restaurant lobbies on the top floors and are more limited but still stunning. The only issue was the room being dated. The plumbing for the toilet dripped a little when flushed and the hot water tap on the sink let out a loud whistle when turned on. The walls had small scuffs from furniture being moved but overall it is an exceptional hotel on a beautiful lake.

We loved our stay. Our room was high in the sky with the most wonderful views across the lake. The staff were kind, friendly and very courteous. The shuttle bus to and from the hotel to Otsu station was really handy and only a 10 minute drive. We didn’t coordinate our stay well enough to be there on a Saturday to take part in the parkrun around the lake which was a shame as the start was just outside the door. Restaurants and supermarkets nearby too. Will definitely stay again.
