Room very clean Staff friendly polite and welcoming

An older property but immaculately maintained. They catered for kids so well (giant teddies, kids bed spreads, slippers/gowns) and staff were so helpful. Highly recommend, especially lounge access rooms.

Great place for a family in Chiang Mai. The location is close to many conveniences. The rooms are a good size. Breakfast is extensive, but not necessarily our favorite food options. Staff is very pleasant.

Lovely staff including the front desk staff including Ms. Kate. Very helpful Concierge staff including Mr. Chaw. Very attentive cleaning staff on Floor 10 including Ms. Apple. The staff at the Spa were also very welcoming. I do think the carpets in the hallway need shampooing as it is quite dusty. Moreover, the air conditioning unit in Room 1022 needs thorough maintenance, as it was quite moldy and then it was noisy after the engineers responded to my request for cleaning.

This was a lovely comfortable retreat after a rustic stay in the jungle. Would definitely stay here again.

All the staff were polite and helpful and the lifeguards also did very well in ensuring everyone was safe in the pool. My son had a cut and they were swift to clean him up and gave him some ointment. My kids had so much fun at the kids club and we really enjoyed our stay so much! Location was convenient and walkable to night markets, massage places and food places. Will definitely be back again!

Great Location but Disappointing Attention to Detail We stayed at Shangri-La Chiang Mai right after celebrating a very special anniversary at Shangri-La Japan, so our expectations were naturally high. On the positive side, the hotel made a nice effort on arrival — our room was beautifully decorated for our anniversary, which we truly appreciated. The location is excellent, just about 5 minutes from the Night Bazaar, making it very convenient. However, the overall experience fell short due to several service and housekeeping issues. Right after check-in, we noticed stained bedsheets, which was quite disappointing. While housekeeping promptly replaced them, it felt like the issue was brushed off rather than properly acknowledged. Attention to detail was consistently lacking. On multiple occasions, coffee was served with spills and stains on the cups, which reflects poor service standards. There also didn’t seem to be any floor manager available to escalate or address feedback in real time. The breakfast experience was underwhelming. The Indian counter felt like an afterthought, with limited options and no proper menu to complement it, making it largely unusable for us. On one day, we returned to find our room had not been cleaned at all, and we had to call housekeeping to get it done. Incidents like these add up and take away from what should have been a relaxing stay. That said, the spa was outstanding and one of the highlights of the property.
