I like to staying in this place very nice people.

I stayed in family room on 8th floor. The room cleanliness was a bit questionable. The floor was uneven and carpet has seen better days (bit sticky too!). Water tank was under maintenance so water could be in off color (green). Asked for laundry bag and inside had whitish residue that I just immediately didn’t dare to use it. Shower mat wasn’t replaced with a new one despite it was wet and just flipped over. Sink was leaking. Trash can was rusted and dinged badly. It’s supposed to be a 4-star hotel but maintenance and cleanliness made me doubtful that it could still be considered a 4-star. A 2.5 is more likely. Oh breakfast too… fried rice was literally rice being fried on a pan without eggs or even meat. They will only add sliced chilis to make it “spicy”. Honestly, this was my first experience staying in a Novotel chain and it made me want to avoid the chain for good.

We order 4 non smoking rooms and 2 double bed for each room. Once we got there they give us 4 smoking room and 1 queen bed on each room. If the hotel doesn't have non smoking room available at the first place, why on the website show available. It's a SCAM, we have minor traveling with us and the room still smell cigarette even after they do the treatment. The fourcet on the sink is shaky. The front desk is awfull, don't know what they doing.

Really good stay after all

I would have given an excellent rating except when we arrived after a 7 hour train ride we were given a smoking room that was dirty and run down. Fortunately I showed them our request for non-smoking and they moved us. These little things matter when navigating a foreign country.

We have stayed at the Novotel in Solo several times and have always been happy with their service. There is a great little restaurant across the street—Alamama. It has western and Indonesian options. The restaurant at the hotel is always very good too.

I love the location. I do not like the food always the same everyday

Very nice stay in Solo. All staff had been very helpful and courteous. Room and all facilities were clean. What needs to be improved is the bathroom: hand-held shower head and rain shower head badly need to be replaced.
