Onsen are good and food is adequate, however Hotel is in urgent need of repair !!!

This is our second stay at Hotel Urashima. They've changed ownership so there is a difference in checking in There are stand alone Kiosk to check in. Not so personal. We usually get 1/2 board which is buffet breakfast and buffet dinner. Both breakfast and dinner have several pre dinner cooking devices that you cook your fish or vegetables. Breakfast could be improved. My favorite is the variety of onsens and the cave grottto is my favorite. There is also a shiatsu massage service.

Location : around 10 min walk from the JR station to the pier where the hotel provides free shuttle bus/ ferry pick up service. Room: nice size and view. Rather old style But i consider it reasonable as it is an old hotel. Onsen : I love the cave onsen. Very rare. This is the most beautiful features at the hotel. Meals: buffet style. I always prefer kaiseki style. But it is a big hotel with a lot of guests. Buffer style is easy to manage . Staff: nice and helpful Recommended for good value for money

Huge property and nice onsen!

Lovely hotel for after your hikes. The onsens were nice. The temperature was perfect for me. It is a dated hotel but i think the amenities were still good. You also get a free bath salt for completing 3 of the onsens. The staff were very nice and accommodating. You can leave your luggage even before check in and I was able to access the rooftop or mountain observatory. The buffet dinner and breakfast has a lot of variety so I think everyone has something for them there

Nice hotel, friendly staffs and Great Onsen

Nice traditional room, and fun Japan-style resort experience. The cave onsen is phenomenal! Also convenient that the Lawson’s is on site near the lobby. Only downside, I was hoping for a spa-like massage, but bypassed since it had the ambiance of a physical therapy or bone-setting clinic.

the place is an island on it's own and looks like a James Bond villain base from the outside. Inside it's got so many baths and just cool areas to explore. The room itself is comfortable and there's even a little convenience store near the front desk so you can get room snacks easily. I picked up some of the pickled plum udon noodles to cook at home and they were delicious! Meals are a little crowded as they're buffet style but the food itself is amazing and so many different things to try. I recommend coming here at least once and staying two nights if you can.

When I first tried this hotel, I used the daily use onsen. I fee; in love with the cave onsen. We now stay at least two nights ove night to use the floor 33 onsen as well as the cave onsen. They have a nice breakfast and dinner buffet. We like the Western style room with western beds as well as a living room/dining room that you can have the Japanese futons.
