I upgraded to a club room to get the breakfast and happy hour neither of which were worth it. When we arrived early I had the option to check in immediately for an extra $200 euros We took the early room which was situated inside facing the tree. The room had no natural light and the lighting it did have was above your head and casted a weird shadow. The room also had an odd smell. Outside of the location it was not worth the money I spent.

Lovely hotel and special mention to Romario in the bar. Great service and perfect for families visiting Barcelona.

The hotel has been nicely updated but is struggling to provide adequate service to the volume of guests it was built to serve. A couple of examples: the safe in our room didn’t work showing an error, the staff promised to reset it but no one even came. The maid service showed up at 5:29 pm, just as we were freshening up and getting ready for dinner. The room was empty from 10am to 5pm with the green light on, but the hotel staff couldn’t manage to service it during this window. So the room didn’t get cleaned. This isn’t the level of service and efficiency you’d expect from a Marriott property, especially considering that this isn’t a budget hotel. Underwhelming!

The main drawcard for us staying at the hotel is for my husband to have access to a quality gym - this hotel delivered. The hotel itself is new, and the lobby is fresh. The doormen, reception staff and bar/lounge service were all fantastic. The reason for not giving the resort 5 stars are as follows: I found the hallways to our room quite dirty and had an odour (not sure if it’s a cleaning product but it really bothered me when I stepped out of the lift). The breakfast offering was really lack lustre and the service in here really bothered our stay. Every morning we would come 30min before breakfast closure and every single day, the wait staff would constantly say “buffet closing” to the point where you feel shoved out. The staff need training in here promptly. I saw many frustrated guests as it just didn’t feel welcoming. They would pack up around you, not clear your plates and you would just get looks when you were already trying to be quick! I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again, but I would book without breakfast as it’s not worth the $. There are many nice cafes outside. The rooms themselves were lovely and couldn’t fault them. It’s in a great location close to train station to walk for your daily tours and go to the lovely shopping areas

Cleaning staff did an impeccable cleaning job and turn down service. The hotel is gorgeous and the elevated lobby lounge is great for everyone. Pizzeria is top notch. Cafe on the corner attached to the hotel has the friendliest staff ever. We'd happily stay here again.

Fantastic stay at the Renaissance. Plenty amenities were made available to us and the room was exceptionally clean. Staff were very helpful and polite. The hotel is located very close to Centraal station and is within walking distance to all of the major attractions.
