Staff was very helpful and accommodating, food was okay, pool closed early, bar closed early more family oriented, twice food that was on the menu wasn’t available, someone was either thrown or jumped off a balcony and died which made them shut everything around pool down.

While the property was clean , and the staff was nice, this is what I would call a "budget all inclusive hotel." Guests are limited to only being able to visit the (non-buffet) restaurants with a reservation, despite there being vacancy every night. Guests are only able to make reservations very early in the morning and in person, and are limited to only making one reservation every three nights.

The food was not available when we already had reservations. The room air conditioner was not working properly. Construction maintenance was being done in the middle of the day while we were trying to have a relaxed time. The pools were closed early at the resort because a guest at the resort fell off a balcony and died. The body of the guest that died was not immediately removed from the resort until more than 5 hours later. The staff at the resort was hiding the accident.

Our air conditioning was broke in both of our rooms the whole 5 days, we reported it 5 times to no avail. The basketball court one of the only extra things to do was under construction without any notice. Three of the restaurants require reservations and depending on the amount of days you stay is how many reservations you’re allowed…so we only got 2! Keys to our rooms had to be fixed at least twice a day. Spoke with management who said he was going to make notes, he did not! Didn’t even ask our room number or names

i loved the property

The property has an aging infrastructure. We had to move rooms for a variety of issues. Door lock would not work, maintenance was unable to fix it, AC didn’t work, TV was intermittent, and sink was about to fall off of the pedestal. New room was fine. On arrival it took them 2 hours to get into our room even though we checked in after the allotted time frame. Food was bad, entertainment was sub par, and pools were dirty (water looked like milk). We will never go back.

We didn't receive water service for last two days even after calling front desk and making them aware.

Occidental Tucancún, limpieza terrrible se miran pelos Vasura y cucarachas desde la entrada principal, comida y bebidas de muy baja calidad , no lo recomiendo

Jose, the manager took great care of my party and made sure we had no issues accessing anything we needed during our stay. Additionally, Moses was a stand out within the wait staff, never letting our glasses go empty. The resort staff as a whole were fantastic!

This resort was tough for me to take. Check in took an hour and a half. The desk staff were pleasant. Our room was dated and the a.c. was loud. That changed on day 5 when it quit working. Numerous complaints and reports only to keep being told it would be working in 1-2 hours. It never did. Three bartenders, Francisco, Antonio and Omar were very friendly and gave great service. One waitress, Dalida was excellent! I would never recommend this resort. My worst resort experience ever.
