Worn. Everything in need of an upgrade and decent clean (mold in bathroom, worn carpets and sticking out screws on carpet dividers between rooms).Overpriced for the condition and lack of amenities. Reception and cleaning staff friendly. Breakfast if you go in the last 30 mins don’t expect anything left or to be restocked. Location is good and central. If it’s a heatwave expect to be warm and for it to be nosier, no air con and a desk fan with open windows to night life.

Of course, the hotel is dated and doesn't look great from the outside, but it is well maintained and spotlessly clean in all areas, as far as I could judge. The room and bathroom were a decent size, breakfast was good quality but the hotel's strength is its staff. All were very friendly and helpful and seemed pleased I was there! Excellent value for money.

We stayed here after a gig at Cardiff castle and could not have had a closer hotel!! The room was large and the bed was extremely comfortable. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. The room was a little dated but everything in our room worked

Stayed here previously and hotel is in an ideal location for exploring Cardiff. The hotel has become tired over the years though with some decorative and amenity issues. Only one lift was working which as I was on the third floor meant a wait most times. My room was very hot with just a fan to cool things down. The window was so dirty you could hardly see out of it. The redeeming factor is the staff who are so helpful and friendly.

Good location to cardiff city centre. Rooms clean and tidy

This Hotel is perfect location for Cardiff Castle/Blackweir Fields. It is very much of its time. You can see that it would have been a very opulent hotel when new but sadly the efforts to maintain have not brought any modernisation so hotel feels dated. That said, for the price compared to othe Cardiff hotels, it was adequate, Clean enough and the breakfast was Basic but OK. Staff were very good. My wife dropped an earing down the plug hole in the Bathroom and they went out of their way to retrieve it for her.

The room was like a sauna. There was no air as windows were falling apart and could not be opened. I was given two fans on request which just circulated the air. No sockets next to the bed so no way of charging phones unless at power point at end of room. Decent breakfast but terrible sleep and experience.

Stay was ok , mattress and bedding was way too soft to the point of sinking at the pillow side. Room was big but dated with electrical switches hanging off the wall in the bathroom of all places . Location was good for city centre and events. Staff helpful and breakfast was decent. But could have done with a selection of eggs other than fried .
