The location of the hotel was great for walking around but not easy to access via car. The breakfast seemed like a standard among all the hotels we stayed at in Portugal. Our first room has a broken shower that would flood the bathroom. We were able to switch rooms after a few days into a room that had another broken shower. Disappointing. The bed was as hard as sleeping on the floor. Definitely not orthopedic.

Beautiful hotel, perfect location, friendly & helpful staff

This hotel was excellent! The front desk helped us book a last minute hiking trip. Including information of how to do on our own if we decided to go the route alone. Upstairs has a cute rooftop bar overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the mountains! It had great selection of breakfast options. Centered around the downtown historic district of Funchal, made sightseeing, shopping and plenty of restaurants to choose for dinner fantastic. Perk to our trip was the Festival of Flowers with cultural activities and events during our visit.

Very good location near historic old town. A few minutes walk from the Aerobus (airport to town public transport) stop. Breakfast buffet was good. Staff were all very welcoming and gave advice on local trips etc.... Glad we chose to stay here.

They advertise a heated indoor pool, which was one of the reasons we chose this hotel. unfortunately the water was cold & so was the area where the pool was located. The staff at the hotel were not really interested especially the female receptionist, not Priscilla. Our room 203 was lovely apart from there was very little natural light so you always had to have the light on , even during the day. Breakfast was great, lots of choice, however the room was small & everyone had to sit very close to each other.

Room was very spacious and check-in staff was super nice. We got a welcome drink and excellent recommendations for tours and things to do. Pool access is with reservations but totally worth it and super relaxing. Gorgeous cellar, little shop and art collection. Beautiful breakfast dining room and excellent food selection.

Great place. Good stay there and amazing location. Breakfast was good and staff super nice. Only item to mention was the room had no windows - just a tiny skylight.

Lovely room and wonderful breakfast. Excellent location in easy walking distance for shops buses cafes restaurants. Staff friendly and helpful.
